Still hot as heck here but I’m at the first primary school birthday party of the new school year so inside an inadequately lit sports hall with 40 under 6s and a pair of bouncy castles. If anything its a bit chilly in here. I'd sooner sit in the sun with no shade than endure another kids birthday party, cool or otherwise. |

Sitting in the garden after a 50km cycle having a cold beer. It's still nice enough to sit out in. I like this September weather just now.

Had some rain here, not much admittedly, temperature has dropped and yet going out to my car to check my tyre pressures I come back indoors feeling incredibly sweaty again.

Has anybody else spent 40+ years sticking doggedly to having a full duvet set in summer to realising by going abroad once that a simple top bed sheet enables much better sleep and being slightly embarrassed when bringing this esoteric knowledge home that it’s taken approaching half a century to realise and change? Me neither. Linen bedding, silk duvets. Perfection. |

Ugh, just spent all day in London in a victorian building with an all glass roof. That was horrible.
I waited outside Old Street this morning and watched a digital thermometer rise by 5 degrees in the space of 5 minutes.

absolute mother of all thunderstorms kicking off about 10 miles (?) south westish west north west of Cheltenham, will find somewhere to upload video, like 2 strikes per second for the last ten minutes, never seen anything like it
edit: still going, still at least a strike *per second* this might actually be an alien invasion lads
edit 2: looking at map it's possible we're seeing a storm all the way over in mid Wales from Gloucestershire

Heard thunderstorms in the distance as I pottered around the garden late last night, urging the dog to hurry up and pee so we could get inside before the deluge began; as it turns out, she needn't have hurried, as the storms drew no closer.
The bloody sun's out again now!

Was taking the dogs out when it suddenly decided to get really hot. Little one struggled to get home. Says it's just over 20 but feels hotter and I'm guessing I'll completely miss any rain or thunderstorms  |
