After seeing it up close this week I’ve realised Blackpool Tower is literally just the top section of the Eiffel without the torso and legs bits, and stuck on top of a civic hall. If anything I think the building bit at the bottom makes it more striking than the Eiffel.

It's tricky as France have a huge history of Chanson type songwriting, but all the big hitters are dead... Piaf, Aznavour, Gainsbourg, Brel, Brassens. |
