I'll be there on the 27th courtesy of U+, looking forward to it. #metoo That should help get some more forum users as well as answering the post.

I’ll be getting it. Normal version most likely, as I don’t think I’ll get through Wukong in less than 7 days.

I've pre ordered the season pass edition which apparently comes with early access.
Bit of a two pronged approach for me with this one. The game looks quite fun to me and it's been a while since I've gone open world so I'm not worn out by it. But I've also had all the Star Wars media on my watch list for fucking forever and this is the perfect excuse for me to finally burn through it and see what all the fuss is about. I've seen the Original and Prequel trilogies once each so I've got about 8 million different films and TV shows to watch now.
Of course no sooner did I start that endeavor, I've just seen one of their big series got cancelled earlier today so all the Star Wars lore nerds can thank me for conjuring its slow demise into existence.

Bit cheeky putting a legit good sounding mission in the Season Pass "a Day 1 exclusive mission with Jabba" not that I'm fucking surprised.

I do like the look of this but it’s a wait 1yr for a substantial sale on the deluxe all in edition for me. I’ve also been playing Far Cry 4 recently so I’m not really looking for an all be it stealthier open world version of FC atm.

I'm predicting somewhere in the mid to high 70s on meta/opencritic. At least they have the balls to have a slightly early review embargo I suppose.
/edit Well, a day before early access isn't that generous actually come to think of it...

If you're someone buying into early access, I doubt the reviews are that important to you, and for the minority of those purchasers that they are there's still time to get it ready for launch hour.

"It speaks back to Outlaws' issues with stripping away the bulk of the Ubisoft formula and finding so little underneath - or more broadly, a general misunderstanding of what you ought to be stripping away here and why. The Ubisoft open world functions so well because of how this clutter weaves itself together so intoxicatingly that you can't help but flow from one to the next, from looting to crafting to combat to gear to unlocking another area of the world and more."

2 stars from EG lol "Death from a thousand Hutts" Ouch TRG review: Star Wars Outlaws serves up an extremely enjoyable open-world Star Wars experience that proves the wait for such a game was worth it. While there are a few frustrations, the mix of beautiful worlds, a crime-rich underworld, compelling and tense missions with multiple routes to success, a strong cast, and a fun narrative to boot, makes it a superbly fun experience. Pros +Brilliantly authentic Star Wars aesthetic, including breath taking landscapes and movie-accurate design +Playing as a scoundrel is enormous fun +Compelling underworld life experience +Nix is a lovable and genuinely useful companion +Refreshingly ‘regular’ protagonist in the Star Wars universe Cons -Some frustrating checkpointing in missions -Occasionally repetitive quest design -Boring traversal and climbing sections litter missions and areas

Seems to have reviewed reasonably well everywhere bar EG, 7-9s and that's pretty much what I expected.
Be nice if TGC send my PS5 physical copy a bit early, with a bit of eBay code and Nectar voucher usage it's costing my 44 quid which doesn't seem too bad to me.

Been a while since we've had an outlier EG review. Seems relatively positive everywhere else (bang on my earlier prediction)

I've become quite fond of Chris Tapsell's reviews and this is a pretty good review. All those cons he lists are things that I would find numbing over time and I can imagine it's the kind of game where people rave about on the first day of playing then sour over time as they peel back the layers and eventually end up not completeing due to burnout due to the repetitive nature of it all.

Interestingly, while looking to see what else Tapsell had reviewed so that I had some basis for comparison, I saw that he scored Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League 3/5, and even uses the same tagline (?) for the reviews (Death by a thousand ...).
He also scored Spider-Man 2 4/5.

He’s actually posted a comment saying he did indeed find Justice League more fun to play.

He also scored Spider-Man 2 4/5. Sounds like you think this isn't right, but can't work out if you think he over scored it under. 4 out 5 sounds about right to me. It is great and I liked it a lot, but it was more of the same and some parts felt a little bloated. No idea about Justice League, but that doesn't sound like a high score from what I've heard.

No, I enjoyed Spider-Man a lot. No comment on the score, just one that I actually have played that he didn’t score low Whatever he wants to score them is fine, I just wanted some comparison so that I could relate. I was surprised that he scored this lower than JL though.

Tapsell's comment: "I am typically a bit prickly about comparing stars across games but I reviewed both and I would say fairly comfortably that I enjoyed Suicide Squad more than this. For all its flaws, that game has movement and combat that feel wonderfully fluid and cathartic when you thread them together. Without wanting to sound mean, unfortunately I don't think there's a single thing I actually enjoyed the physical act of doing in Outlaws"
