Combat looked a bit crap with the big spikey club, but decent enough when he finally whips out his sword. Stealthy shenanigans look great!

I'm a bit surprised it's taken until this long for turning off lights to be a mechanic in an Ass-Creed, considering how long ago you had Thief and the like doing it.

I've skipped over the Ass Creed bits, as kind of know what to expect. Saw some of the stealthy bit though which looked pretty good... until she killed the target in the middle of everyone and then some limp combat where they all just stood there staring at her was a bit rubbish.

I typically love AC but perhaps because I'm knee deep in Ronin and spent over 100 hours with the sublime GoT, I think I was a little underwhelmed

Are they not doing Just Dance craziness any more? Feeling like someone had spiked my tea with acid was always the best part of E3

Star Wars looked ok, shooting looked really stiff but that planet landing animation is 100% what Starfield should have had.

A reasonable show overall, I thought.
Somewhat disappointed by the lack of Splinter Cell, but I'm used to it by now; besides, it was about as likely to appear as Beyond Good and Evil 2 (i.e. not very).

Rather enjoying the breakdown of the Star Wars footage that's on now.

I guess all the Outlaws previews are now clear to go live, as Skill Up just uploaded his:

AC looked ok, looked a bit framey though, hopefully it has the object motion blur that Valhalla and Mirage have.

I think I'm more inclined to trust Ralph on that one, will give his video a watch in the morning. He generally has similar open world game tastes as me although as with anyone else it's not an exact science.

I don't agree with SkillUp on everything, and he's absolutely hated games I've loved. Although we really agreed how monotonous AC Valhalla was. I do think Tapsell is one of the best writers EG has, especially as he actually reviews a game and gives detail as opposed to some meandering musing.

I wouldn't know as I stopped reading EG ages ago as I felt their stuff went off a cliff a long time ago.

Skill Up is reasonably positive, albeit less so than the video's title led me to expect - he speaks highly of the graphics, PC performance, and general Star Wars-iness of it all, but is more lukewarm regarding the actual gameplay.
I really like how analytical he is, and I always enjoy his content even when I don't agree with his thoughts on a given game. (Give me a thoughtful, eloquent "content creator" like him over a ragebait-douchebag-with-Tourette's guy like Angry Joe every day of the goddamn week.)
Agree re Tapsell, who's one of the few EG writers I rate highly.

PCG seem to be roughly of the same opinion as EG.

I will have ubi plus for AC anyway, a couple of extra months to play star wars before it comes out should make it a reasonably cheap play through.
I'm kind of wanting an open world game lately, rotr scratched the combat itch but the rest of it was so badly put together it really didn't remove the need for my yearly open world fix.

Wasn't there already a game called Empire of the Ants sometime around 2002 or so?

I do hope the combat in AC Shadows is better than Valhalla and Mirage but that footage doesn't give me much hope. Still looks clunky and slow. Definitely won't be able to compare to Rise of the Ronin I feel. Stealth looks improved tho and I supposed that's what matters most.
Death Sprint 66 is essentially a racing game but with free runners that can kill each other.

That looks cool. Needs a Running Man/game show element to it. What's Lance Boyle up to these days
