Boo, no release date... Will it be more Sekiro or more Nioh, you think? That posture meter says Sekiro.

Disappointed not to see anything more of REPLACED. Maybe at the MS one.

That was a really good show. Fair play.

Killer Bean = Game of the Show Well after two hours of SGF I'm sticking with that opinion.

Either way, Phantom Blade looks much more Souls-y than I'd realised - I had it pegged as a hack and slash game, but I was clearly wrong.

Boo, no release date... Will it be more Sekiro or more Nioh, you think? That posture meter says Sekiro. Could be stamina instead though, the one under the player's health bar seemed to have bits that looked "faded but not gone" a la Bloodborne health...

This indie Free-Climbing game reminds me that I haven't played Jusant yet.

I am just catching up on the ones I missed earlier and that Batman VR one using Bullet With Butterfly Wings just seems wrong.

I thought "The Thing - Remastered" would have generated more of a buzz.
I'll be all over that when it launches.
First one.

Unless they fix the broken blood test mechanic it's for the bin.

The most recent trailer for Enotria implies it's now coming in September with the other versions.

The animations in that phantom blade trailer are incredible.

That was a great a show. Alan Wake 2 DLC coming out today was the only real big wow moment from a known franchise (although, judging by the trailer, it looked like it didn't feature any new areas, so is probably going to be quite slight). Batman almost was, until they said it was a Meta only VR game. Still, there was lots of cool looking new games and a lot of variety. As a horror fan, the Blumhouse stuff really stood out and I'm looking forward to pretty much all of those.
The last half hour or so did become reminiscent of previous shows, with far too much time dedicated to Valorant and some weird advert for a mobile game that went on forever. Fortunately, I was a bit behind so was able to skip those and get back to good stuff for a fairly strong finish.

And a segment dedicated to a niche Youtuber getting a role in a movie. I think last 30 mins was really a prime example of we don't have much else to show. I dunno why people were hyping themselves up to ridiculous levels for this. I thought the show was fine, SF Season 2 looks great, MH Wilds looks interesting. Phantom Blade Zero might be a QTE fest but theres hints of it being more than that and looks really slick to watch. Metaphor Refantazio probably the highlight for me.

Is it weird that Thank Goodness You’re Here is the only thing that I’m properly curious about seeing more of right now?
There’s other decent looking stuff but I wasn’t jumping out of my seat at much

I did have to laugh at Battle Aces showing a slick animated trailer and then they show the gameplay and it's a RTS.

The big breasted woman is literally called B.J...enet. jesus!
I'm currently up to the power rangers, the turtles in time/outrun/space harrier mashup I didn't know I wanted. Looks honestly quite fun.
Quite like the look of Neva too and tears of metal.
Lots of quick-look trailers for later trailers.

I'm surprised by the negativity towards this show online tbh. There seems to be a lot of people who really assumed there would be massive reveals and hyped themselves up.

I really don't understand why, Geoff addressed it before hand saying don't expect new Kingdom Hearts, Bloodborne 2, GTA VI etc. The show has never really been that. Guess people just want to be surprised so badly.

Its more that its just (mostly) more of the same for me. The things people seem biggest up on are sequels and DLC and those do look good but it’d be nice to see something that doesn’t feel like “oh, its another one”

Glad I stayed up to watch the Devolver Direct, not as gory as past events (no Nina either boo!) and clearly shot in the UK right from the start (even though a certain forum seemed surprised when a British police car shows up) and just as odd as always.
Their games line up looks pretty damn good if you like less mainstream stuff and I hope Anger Foot gets a port to console at some point.

I would say that was the best Geoff Presentation ever, but the bar is low. Still, some mild variety and I appreciate the focus on mid-tier and indie stuff.
Solid presentation. Which I have never said about any of his other shows.

Geoff is still trying to make it into an event like the old E3 days but it's just not, no one pimped Door Dash during an E3 press event.
I didn't expect much from it, didn't get much from it but there were some games that were new to me and it being on a Friday was certainly a better choice than Thursday for everyone outside the US.

First impressions of the Enotria demo:
- Aggressively Soulslike, in many ways
- Parry timing seems to be rather generous at the moment
- Most status ailments have a risk/reward element to them (Dizzy, for example, increases damage dealt by and stamina regeneration of the afflicted, but also causes them to take more damage) that should make for some interesting strategies
- The general theme seems to take a lot of inspiration from Italian theatre/Commedia dell'Arte, with Italian terms aplenty, the initial (and perhaps more) weapons being stage props, masks being used as the basis for your builds etc

Funny aside: we went to look at descriptions of stats and the Ardore Power (combat arts) stat simply said "Increases the damage dealt from actions that involved Ardore". Very of you, game

The big franchises were fairly absent. And it was a better show for it, for me. Lots of new stuff from small and medium sized devs, with much more variety than some of the past shows. They flagged this right at the top of the show and followed through with that promise. I'm not really surprised that the general consensus is a bit negative, as people go into these expecting glitz and glamour of the big names and it certainly wasn't that. I liked it for that though.
