I’m moderately moist for this one. Just hoping it does not go up in flames. … and that the inevitable insta-death/unnecessarily stressful due to game mechanics chase section is minimal(or even better non existent) stillwakesthedeep.com/media/

What still wakes from the deep? IT? THEY? HE? SHE? Obviously, it's a game about beloved and oft-memed antagonist The Deep, from the hit series The Boys /s

I’m sorry but ‘weaving horror in 1970s Scotland’ is fucking lol. Sounds like it’s going to be a reimagining of Red Riding, pit closures and power cuts.

The title makes it sound like a sequel to Wakes the Deep.

The title makes it sound like a sequel to Wakes the Deep. It does. if there is a sequel to this one then they should totally call it... something witty. I am too tired to think it up.

I was excited for this, but having seen the gameplay trailer on Xbox, I was underwhelmed. I’m not scared about what I can’t see. Neither am I scared about a threat I don’t understand. That clip was just walking and noises.
I was amused by the word shite, though.

Looking forward to this. Dark room and headphones will see it at its best, I reckon.

Nae bad reviews dropped. Great atmosphere, very linear... as expected really.
Metro call it the sweariest video game yet. Fanny baws to that.

Turn off the motion blur, chroma shite devs like and maybe the film grain. The motion blur is either off or blurry mess if you turn fast.
Played a little earlier and its very much standard "walking sim" so far. Also saw there is achievement for completing the game in Scottish Gaelic

I enjoyed most of it. I'm sitting here at 2am thinking I haven't played a game from start to finish in one sitting since Journey.
Not sure if I am proud of myself or feeling dirty!
Definitely lose the motion blur. I lost the grain too and it was much improved. DLSS did not seem to work, despite having a 4070. Odd, maybe a setting in Windows but other games seem to unlock it without issue.
Overall, I think I preferred EGTTR, but this is another game where the voice acting is really very good.
Not too scary - though certainly tense in the stealthier sections.
Some of the controls (and certainly in specific sequences) feel too clunky - like wading through treacle when 'sprinting' was very frustrating on one occasion late in the game.
The environment is very well realised, with the rig feeling like a cohesive entity most of the time.
I doubt I'd play it again as it is VERY linear, but I'm glad I did.
7.5/10

The pricing is a little high for what seems to essentially be a short walking sim, but with better hardware I would certainly be considering it. Another one for down the line I guess.
