Some engagement farming bullshit from a dumb grifter who has repeatedly proven he can't ship a game himself. I am so tired of this outrage content farm grifting. Seems to infect most youtubers even those who find the whole thing a joke. They all contribute to garbage in garbage out youtube content.

So, did anyone actually buy this? Guilty. I've got a weekend to myself and was hoping the Fallout 4 update would keep me occupied, but I just couldn't handle that Bethesda Jank so I bought it on a whim. Which is stupid as I thought the demo wasn't anything special. As someone who is abysmal at these melee games I have actually found this one fairly intuitive so far. Few deaths but I actually learned from them and it seems fairly well balanced for someone like me. I'm probably just in the coping/denial phase of having self indulgently dropped 50-odd quid (shopto vouchers and PlayStation rewards, baby) on it. But I think it's half decent putting aside the fact I'm probably due someone knocking on my door to check my hard drive just for owning it.

After careful consideration, I decided to give it a miss.
Instead, I've started my final playthrough of Sekiro - a much better bet, not to mention a cheaper one (and the money I would've spent on Stellar Blade has funded my pre-orders of System Shock and Outer Wilds, which is nice).

Still haven't started this, last night I finished work late and today I've been running errands, so no digital titties for me yet...

Yeah, this is actually all right. It feels very 'Souls Games for Dummies' and I mean that in the nicest possible sense. I'm absolutely shite at those games and always end up hitting a mid-game wall and being too much of a shithouse to grind it out. But I think I'll actually be okay to finish this one if there isn't an obscene difficulty curve.
There's no way this is worth or will be a success at 70 notes though. It should have been 49.99 at an absolute upper limit.

Totally agree with you on the first part, but it looks set to be a massive success for Sony in any event.
Becoming a rallying point for the anti-woke nutjobs made that inevitable.

I got the DD edition, purely on the basis of playing 5 minutes of the demo and thinking Yup this is my type of (character action) game. It's Bayonetta,DMC,Sekiro and of course Nier Automater all rolled into one. Special mention to Ninja Gaiden too.
It's pretty pretty good.

I'm pretty lucky that at my time of life, in my line of work, I don't give a rat's ass about the outside world. I just pay my money and get my entertainment. Hack and slash.

Have you managed to give this a crack yet, JonFE? I'm assuming you can import your save from the demo and start the opening area partway through, should you feel so inclined.

Ulythium Yeah, just finished my first extended session. I did not import my demo save nor did the game give me such an option (could it be because I deleted the demo prior to starting the game, I don't know). Just started again from scratch, played through the demo part of the game, beat the first boss and I'm currently still in Eidos 7 in an area next to the demo area. I'm taking my sweet time exploring around, trying to find whatever supplies are there, collecting lots of shit I know nothing about, maxed my health once, got some fighting and surviving skills unlocked that ease Eve's parry and dodge moveset and frankly having the best time. I honestly think the whole Tits & Arse charade surrounding this game is doing it a huge disservice. The character design may have helped put its foot through the door, but the actual gameplay will make it stay indoors and once you get past the foxy lady you'll find a very good game underneath. I'm playing on Balance mode and I find it a bit more responsive and movement seems more fluid - either that, or I grew accustomed to it Also, a couple of graphics settings (like Film Grain) seems to have been added, that some reviewers may have missed.
All in all I'd say, wait for a sale if you want or if funds are tight, but it's worth getting at some point.

Really pleased you're enjoying it, JonFE - that's great to hear. Never say never, but I think Sekiro will keep that itch scratched for a while yet; I also have a burgeoning desire to replay Nier: Automata, for some strange reason or other. That said, I do seem to be making my way through Sekiro more quickly than I'd anticipated, so perhaps I'll be in the market for another parry-heavy game sooner rather than later. Next up: Guardian Ape!

You sure make Sekiro sound easy Uly, that's comfort gaming for ya!
Speaking of Nier, the OST in Stellar Blade is very Nier-like to the point of having me searching who the composer is, but I haven't found a connection.

JonFE I'm pretty sure Shift Up hired the Nier composer to do about half the music in Stellar Blade. Can't remember the name off the top of my head, though. JuniorFE That soon-to-be-headless git is gonna get what's coming to him!

To my understanding he was involed with about half the songs, the rest made by others that work in his studio.

Of course Push Square has seen fit to signal-boost that ridiculous petition, even including a link to it in their 'article':
I knew who'd crapped out that excuse for journalism before I even clicked the link.

Thank you all for your input re Stellar Blade OST. The similarities in eerie tone and feeling, along with the female vocals are distinctly recognizable and most welcome in my book ekz I will try my best, but I seriously doubt I can live up to Ulythium's excellent reviews!

So, we are now screaming censorship about a piece of digital cloth that was added to cover up a digital sideboop (if that's the correct term) you wouldn't even see most of the time since you view the character from behind?!? Right, gotcha!!!
