I bought a couple of the Usborne Books reprints (Spycraft and Future) clearly aimed at British middle aged blokes (which I am). Quite enjoyed my "return" to childhood through them and some of the stuff in Future wasn't completely wrong but it was far too hopeful about how well humanity would do in space.

Another thing I had in my youth was a bit of plastic tubing which you would move really fast and it made a sound. Great fun.

Pole Position was awesome. My favourite ‘action’ cartoons would be;
1. Bucky O’Hare - let’s croak us some toads! Everything had an awesome design and it really felt quite epic.
2. Jase and the Wheeled Warriors - again, the designs of all the vehicles (were these designed to sell toys?) really caught the imagination.
3. Pole Position - you WANTED the cars. But specifically the Lotus/Delorean/Lambhorghini looking one. This was pure escapism.
4. Pirates of Dark Water - really quite sinister with the titular dark water and the ship design was soooo detailed and grim-cool. The girls in class liked the monkey bird.
Got loads of TV stuff I’ll save for other times.

UuuuUUllllLyyyssseeeeeEEEEeeeeEEEEeeeesss!!! I feel honoured that's it one of those cartoons that actually had a last episode and a proper ending that I saw as opposed to being cancelled with no closure. Did it? I don't think I ever saw the end. I need closure!

Oh, also, the absolute nightmare fuel that was The Animals of Farthing Wood! I loved this! I can still remember it distinctly, and the accompanying magazine that taught you to draw the animals

My favourites were violent movies turned into cartoons for kids, Robocop, Swamp Thing, Toxie and the Toxic Crusaders, Rambo, Conan the Adventurer. All for toys and I loved them all. I wish the Alien Vs Predator cartoon had actually released.

Goosebumps were a massive part of my childhood. As were trading cards. I recently bought a book with the whole Topps Jurassic Park trading cards.
Some of the art was amazing

Old copies of CVG kept in my childhood cupboard at my parents house brings back lots of feelings of the excitement and anticipation I'd have for reading it each month, back when I really cared about games. I particularly seem to remember the edition for Tekken 1 or 2 with Heihachi on the front cover.

I wish the Alien Vs Predator cartoon had actually released. Arrrrggh how could I forget Swamp Thing! I remember making masks of all the mutants, I could really draw a bit as a kid (haven’t kept it up) and made a huge collage on my wall - big piece of corrugated card backing. Was so proud of it! Did they release a kids comic to tie in with the series? I’m thinking at that pre-net time I must have had a source material. The Post Office over the road - I used to get the TMNT comic, a Caramac and a bag of cheese and onion Walkers with my spends, Dandy or Beano was involved too. Such a great combo.

Especially stuff like Mask, Visionaries, GI.Joe and the most famous of all Transformers which was a toy before the cartoon.

I'm not sure, I only discovered the Swamp Thing show on TV when I went to Florida and Disneyworld as a kid on a family holiday and was allowed to buy some toys from a mall for my birthday. So bought some Swamp Thing toys and some TMNT toys not available in England like Slash.

Muscle Men.
These were the thing to collect at my primary school, and I remember vividly some of the amazing figures, we'd spend as much time swapping these bad boys as we did Pro Set footie cards.

Similar to these in size but does anyone remember anthropomorphic animals wearing body armour that had a symbol on their chests representing the elements like wood, water, fire. Also Monster in my Pocket toys!

Yes to literally everything mentioned so far.
I've been thinking a lot about Knightmare - as brought up in the kids TV thread. I was thinking about how it might look if it were brought back today, and was wondering if it would be as effective without a 4:3 presentation. It gave the rooms (or caverns, hallways, dungeons) a kind of restriction that I think would be hampered by widescreens. Those early seasons when the dungeoneer would have to negotiate rooms containing sleeping Cavern Wights were bloody tense. Or in later series when goblins would emerge from side rooms unexpectedly (can anyone forget that sound of the goblin horn?)
So apparently I'm nostalgic for 4:3 screens too.

Yes Battle Beasts. Cheap enough to ensure you'd be guaranteed at least one pack at any given birthday party.

Ring Raiders, I loved those things. Fighter planes on transparent plastic sticks that attached to a ring you wore on your fingers to fly them through the air.
Pretty good TV show too if I recall correctly.
And to an earlier point someone made, pretty much all kids TV shows are created at the same time as the toy lines (this was massive news to me when I first joined the toy industry, but is oh so obvious when you think about it).

I am a big reminiscer and love nostalgia. My family laugh at me about it sometimes when I get on one about the old days but I don't see the harm, as long as you don't let it get in the way of living and enjoying your life at the same time. Not everyone is lucky enough to have had a childhood full of happy memories, so I do think it is important to appreciate and be grateful for that, and if thinking back and remembering is part of that process, it's all good. Me and my brother collected Monster In My Pocket figures in the early 90s, I recently bought this cheeky chappy which is the one I remember most. He's currently sneakily creeping under my monitor!

Now we're talking! I had a fair few of those, and GoGos (crazy bones). That's what primary school was for us. Also marbles.
