I'm just picturing a tense face-off in the office of a cereal company as Honey Monster got the bad news...

Ricicles were top dog when I was young, then I aged up into Golden and Cinnamon Grahams being my favourites. Now I am old and broken I have a slice of Marmite on toast that my son always asks to have the last bite of.

I feel your pain - 6 Aldi cream crackers with a thin spread of knock-off Lurpak are now my regular breakfast.

They keep killing my favourite cereals before they have a chance to kill me. Sugar Puffs, Golden Grahams and Kellogg's Start are all gone. Golden Crackles were my absolute favourite as a kid but I think they got discontinued in the 90s. Sugar puffs are still a thing. I saw some in Home Bargains the other day! They don’t come in a box they come in a pouch.

What were Kellogg’s equivalent of Golden Nuggets? Like, they came first, looked very similar, but tasted way better. They didn’t last long though. A very early 90s cereal, along with Banana Bubbles, which I never got to try.

Was that the one where there was a glass window at the back and you'd always have a bunch of people making funny faces through the glass? From your description, it sounds like This Morning, when it used to be broadcast from the Albert Dock in Liverpool and you could just walk past and be a proper urchin on live TV.

Variety Packs always had the Holiday Treat appeal to them.

Fond memories of when kids cereals promoted films rated 15.
I think Sugar Puffs became Honey Monster cereal at some point when people realised they actually did have a ridiculous amount of sugar in them. No coincidence that Honey Monster had no teeth.

They've got more basic and less sugary since i were a lad- no frosties or anything like that!

You can still get most variety packs as far as I know. I get them for the boy when we go on holiday. They do them in a packet where you put the milk straight in. He likes the novelty.
Sainsburys had a section where you could mix and match and make your own variety and you got a foldout carrier for them. Amazing stuff.

Yeah, we've only just moved beyond that for our 2. The small packets don't quite cut it anymore.

I commented to my wife just this weekend gone that I couldn't believe a bag of crisps is now £1. Take me back to 25p for a Mars bar, 30p for a can of Coke, and 15p for a quarter of cola cubes or bon bons please. £1 for a bag of crisps??? Wut?

Somewhere, I've still got one of those handheld LCD games (a racing one) that you saved up carton coupons for. Maybe a couple of cassettes too with some 'hits' on them. Check out the awesome graphics - it could even handle a track that wasn't a straight line!

I started with Rice Krispies then onto Coco Pops then Crunchy Nut and ended my cereal days with Cheerios. I don't think I've had cereal for well over a decade.

Especially after the Game Boy came out and they were really quaint in comparison. I went to a friends house for New Years Eve and he had a Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles game, which I made sure I was playing as the clock struck midnight so I could lay claim to the record of being the first person in the world to play a TMHT game in 1991. Still stands.

Sugar Puffs still exist. They are known as Honey Monster Puffs now. I've never seen them outside of B&M though.
As an aside, I once ate an entire box of Sugar Puffs in one sitting and then two hours later I blacked out whilst walking somewhere. I don't think anyone ever intended the box to be done in one sitting.

They’re simply “Wheat Puffs” by a brand called “Honey Monster” now. Still shit, Smacks are better

My kids go through spells of what cereal they prefer. I think I've got about a dozen different cereals in the cupboard. Porridge, Weetabix, cornflakes, cheerios, Wheetos/choco hoops, cookie cereal, rice Krispies, cinnamon squares, teeth breaking granola. Must be others too. Ridiculous.
Used to be porridge every day but out of the habit this winter. Toast it is then.

Even though I miss my old sugary cereals I'm still really partial to regular boring cornflakes with ice cold milk.

int milk brilliant ... Alternatively you could 'go to work on an egg'.
I remember lucky charms very briefly as a kid. We got a box and I ripped through them in a couple of days so my parents cut me off.
Never saw them again
