They don't half spread a long way from that dispenser.

I'm probably never going to play this (cos people etc.) but it sure does look fun and that theme track is pretty damn epic

They don't half spread a long way from that dispenser. I thought I had a stroke of luck dropping the mine layer on top of an Automaton fabricator as it would spread across the entire base. What it did was blow it and the fabricator up when it hit. Ended up later on leaving Pelican 1 on the ground while I waited for the cooldown to expire so I had complete coverage on all approaches and deliberately got more and more bots to try and come up the slope to get me.

Some people, i got teamkilled by one person 5 times earlier.
Someone kicked me as I picked up a sample after they died as well.
Most players have been decent though.

I’ve hit level 35 and only hand a hand full of idiots. The most common dumb ass move is people not checking their surroundings when they throw in the eagles. So many times you’re doing your think and you suddenly see the red beam of light next to you. Orbital you often have the time to run and jump away, eagles drop in quick.
One thing that is the most annoying though is when people take your support weapon and shield. Those things have long cool down so suddenly you’re half as affective to the team without your railgun and shield.

I made some quite silly mistakes in early games. Chucking the respawn beacon into a minefield is probably the most embarrassing memory.

Ha. Hopefully they had a sense of humour about your error.
Most of my team kills is from the eagle strike where they still run into the nest area even when there is a giant red beam there. I then quickly type sorry in chat.
I used to get some friendly grenade kills but I’m much more careful now with them.

Ah well, it had to happen eventually - not sure how many hours I've put in but I finally came across a cunt-troll teammate who killed us all as we were extracting.
Thanks, Obama.

Had some good games today with a lvl 28 guy guiding me and another noob around a few maps. Managed to keep his cool when we kept doing stupid shit, but getting the jist of everything now.

Anyone want to play a bit this evening? I've been doing a bit of random play, still only level 7 and have minimal idea what I'm doing, but having fun.
Haven't dug out the ol' gaming headset for a good few years!

I might be on this evening for some games. Quite happy to help out if I can.
I had a couple of missions on a fire tornado planet. Absolutely mesmerizing and deadly at the same time. I'm really quite impressed with all the mission events and features they keep adding to the game.

I wonder how long they can keep it up, the good updates that is. As you say it is pretty impressive at the moment.

Wonder if they'll have a mission where a giant underground bug rips open the surface to scare the piss out of ya

7 is the sweet spot for me now. 6 is not quite sweaty enough and 8 and 9 can just get annoying. I’m looking forward to the new race as kind of done with the robots now, still love the bugs though.

I'm still wary about going into higher levels but at the same time its maybe where players are a bit more switched on. I've noticed on the challenging/hard level, some are cocky enough to go alone but get swamped then killed and then get reinforced miles away from where they were and then run back to where they died, get swarmed again and die again. I always think that the host/mission starter should pick where they want to go. I'll admit I do get sidetracked ocassionally I do need to start doing lvl 7s for super samples though for ship upgrades.

I think 7s are often easier for that reason, people playing there casually have typically figured out how not to be dumb. A lot fewer "one guy keeps using all the reinforcements by himself" situations.
Expendable ATs are so good now. I need to start saving for the cooldown reduction, got the eagle/orbital reductions unlocked now.

Interesting... I ran with the expendable for ages and really liked it and the slightly fraught nature of only having one so needing to get your shot right (albeit possibly another nearby) but replaced with railgun when that was incredible. That's been replaced with the flamethrower which is so good I run it as a primary now and don't use anything else. Might give the expendable another go.
Also agree that 7 is the sweet spot now.

EAT actually drops 2, so you get a second chance. The cooldown is short too, so you end up with the map littered with them.
Importantly, they can often 1 shot chargers and bile titans to the head. For chargers in particular, the stun nades make them easy pickings.

They have acknowledged the issue where you cant add friends now and managed to replicate it so there is hope for those of us that can't add friends. Really annoying to both have to join a game with a random and hope they quit after the first mission so you have some control over what you are doing.

Just hop in and move up difficulties when you feel like it, you'll be fine.

NitrousIt's a wonderful game, it does take a little while to get used to the mechanics. The biggest thing I found hard to get used to was the reloading, wait till magazine is fully empty. The main thing is though to wait for the animation for reloading to finish as pretty much anything will cancel it. As Duffking says, just ease your way in to the game with the difficulty settings. There is no rush. Also, running away from everything is always a viable strategy. It's easy to get swarmed and stunned and then more swarmed. Don't spend a penny until level 5 where more stratagems open up.

Also don’t be that guy. That guy that uses the rover and mortars and the other things that generally just team kill. Haha. There are certain items you can use that are very easy to kill your team mates. I’m a nice person so I’ve never equipped these items and thankfully when you do get to the high difficulties less people use them.
It’s a lot of fun and with 9 difficulties so anyone can have fun no matter the skills.

Aw, now hang on a minute peacemaker, amusing team kills is part of the fun in the first few levels. I mean, who doesn't kill a few team mates with orbitals every now and again. This is a daily occurrence be it from me or someone else.
