Maybe Tony needs to release a few to pay Mercedes?
WM39s gate already over $17M(record) without a single match announced.

Mercedes ain’t going to AEW. FWIW, she would get a bigger reaction there than she did at NJPW, by a long shot. But the women’s division just isn’t handled well there. She’d be more disgruntled than she was at the old place. She’s better off going to Impact, if anything.

Seeing it heavily expected she debuts tomorrow instead of one of Sarayas announced partners.
It will be a massive mistake for her if she does considering how little Tony does for the division. And yeah can't see her being happy when she's put in a youtube match 2 months in. Her NJPW debut didn't exactly go well though from what I saw.

AEW must have an old school TNA level hit rate of signing talent for the debut pop then doing nothing with them by now

Womens division has been slightly more interesting with Jamie Hayter getting some of the limelight and Britt being her sidekick rather than the other way round.
Hayter and Shida put on an absolute banger a couple of weeks back, and I'm foolishly optimistic that more focus will be put on the good and charismatic women's wrestlers leading in to the next PPV. We'll still have to suffer through the Cargillverse shite though.
Hayter v another workrate wrestler is good enough to open or close a show and she seems to be a ratings draw, maybe we'll get the fabled second woman's match on tv at some point.

Can't wait for Malakai and Andrade to go from being underused midcarders in AEW to underused midcarders in the Fed.

Well, Stephanie has resigned and there now seems to be word leaking out that WWE has been sold to Saudi Arabia's Public Investor Fund...

If it ends up being true I wonder how many wrestlers will leave.

Well Sami refuses to go to Saudi. Multiple wrestlers are part of the LGBTQ community.
Has Owens ever gone to the Saudi event? Pretty sure he refuses to as well. Not to mention plenty simply won't want Vince back on creative which if it goes private I can see him forcing himself back into the role.

WWE owned by the Saudi Arabian state. Absolute scenes.

Safe to say why the board voted against him coming back.

Crazy all the drama about MS buying Activision but this deal will likely just be allowed to happen? Would rather Disney or Amazon just buy them.

Well, there's goes the competition between AEW and WWE to drive up the quality of the shows and pay and conditions for staff.
Nailed on Jay White and Sasha Banks end up in AEW, likely to be misused and not given enough time after a great debut, and I say that as an AEW fan.

You've got to wonder if this could also mean censorship of the tape libraries as well. Thats so many years wrestling from multiple companies at risk if they don't like a storyline or seeing the women.

Really shit news - Vince really is a piece of work.
No idea what this means for multiple talents and the entire women's division.
Not sure how the American fans will take to this news either (or wrestling fans in general). We're not the most progressive bunch.

Well at the moment it's a trust me sources tweet that's stated this. Up until just 2 days ago everyone was saying Comcast was the clear favourite.
Pretty sure the Saudi deal would cost them big in licensing deals as well?

More tweets coming out from various sources that these rumours about the sale to the PIF are completely unfounded. Potentially testing the waters?
Really hope that's the truth in any case. Doesn't solve the Vince problem but that seems small potatoes compared to a Saudi owned WWE.

To be fair I think a lot of the fears around changes to come under Saudi ownership of WWE are a bit hyperbolic, the Fed has been treating women like shit and literally working their employees to death for years without any need for outside encouragement

Steph leaving is 100% down to Vince rather than any potential deal.

Story sounds bollocks to me especially with the leak orginally coming from a WWE shill. I am expecting Vinny to back in full creaive control soon and I feel bad for Regal coming back.

From the sounds of it he legally can't take over creative. I posted a video a little while back of Regal basically saying Vince said to him that him being fired was someone else's mistake(regal wouldn't name this person). So think he will be fine, he's had nothing but good things to say about Vince since he got fired.
Can only hope Vince wants one last big pay check and to be able to be the one to say I sold it for so much $
Then he just fucks off for good and Steph comes back.

I mean he legally can't take over creative OFFICIALLY but he's back in as chairman of the board and has 40 years of learnt behavior. I doubt he'll be booking every show and at gorilla but I can't imagine him sitting back and allowing creative he isnt happy with.
Plus, when has he ever given a shit about the law?!?

AEW is having a mini PPV tonight if people want to take a break from the WWE drama
Moxley V hangman rematch, Trios title ladder match, Women's tag match with the rumoured Michelle Mone (Sasha Banks) debut, JungleHOOK, and Danielson v Takeshita will no doubt be a banger.
