I've been getting well in to AEW lately but this whole thing has made me feeling gross, I knew wrestling was a sleazy scumbag business but I've gotten hyped up about it anyway. I know AEW has a completely different culture but there's plenty of older stars with bad reputations hanging about on the roster.

There are a lot “I found Jesus so lets not talk about all my years of drinking, pills, shagging, racism and domestic violence” types around the industry. Like basically anyone who has survived beyond 50.
But yeah, seeing it laid out like this is super gross and like Dreamer’s contribution shows, they don’t get that any of it is fucked.

I am quite confused by the the whole flight story when it was all aired at the time of it happening. We all knew Flair/Brock were scumbags in this whole story.

Bit odd they tried to make Rhodes sympathetic in it.
He too got sued by a different flight attendant for grabbing her arse, grinding against her and telling her they would fuck.

I've not watched wrestling since the Hulk Hogan and |Ultimate Warrior days - probably the closest thing to a soap that I enjoyed :-)
I'm watching Heels on StarzPlay and that's a good series about small town wrestling so far - and has a fun scene with the wrestlers in a bar fight and how effective some of the moves can be be :-) Bjorn is always fun to watch as well.

I really want to watch Heels. Been saying for years that territory-era wrestling would be perfect for a network drama like this.
GLOW scratched an itch but it was about a tv show really, not a real NWA promotion.

Just watched the Plane Ride from Hell episode. Christ Dreamer does not do himself any favours. Just outright saying “Nope. What we did was fine. It was funny.”

Well he was suspended by TNA after it aired and has come out trying to backtrack on what he said but the guys completely screwed himself over.
Do wonder if this will make AEW cancel the plans to bring Flair in?

Well the next episode is based on Kanyon so I wouldn't be surprised if this is shown which will likely be another black eye for Flair. But yeah AEW don't need him and hopefully he's forced to just retire now.

AEW have joined up with the Owen Hart foundation to host a tournament in his honour. They will also be putting him in the AEW game and sell merch and action figures. Pretty cool that young fans will get to learn about him and the added bonus of pussing off the company that killed him. |
