Ran out of time apparently.
Was a good show but they could have easily condensed all the Brock/Reigns/Heyman stuff into one in ring segment.
Or cut some of the Edge vs Rollins match.
She even had special ring gear made for it

Like they couldn’t have made time if they really wanted.
One slight correction, the most WWE thing would have been to have her lose due to the interference of someone who looked a bit Arab-y, act like it was setting up something big then forget all about it in a fortnights time

Yeah I definitely thought the Joe thing sounded suss but who knows.
It's amazing that NXT has gone back to the drawing board seeing as how 2 to 6 years ago it was held aloft as the pinnacle of wrestling, gave us the women's revolution and a fuck load of main roster stars. It had real momentum and was a great alternative to main WWE. However, this was all in a pre AEW world I guess and the landscape has now radically changed.
Speaking of AEW I rewatched all out last night, one week on, to see if I was just caught in the moment first time round...nah, it's a fucking barn burner pretty much throughout.

I think NXT has been on the slide since it went to two hours.
But then its been trying to be multiple things at once. The joy used to be the turnaround of new talent keeping it fresh and exciting then all of a sudden Gargano, Ciampa, Undisputed Era and others were spending years going nowhere. At the same time the pool of incredible indie stars they had access to was drying up either through competition from AEW or through their own hoovering up of everyone available in previous years. Its just ended up feeling ordinary.
Unfortunately it doesn’t sound like they’re going back to how it was at its peak but closer to how it was when it first replaced FCW.

Maybe the injury is legit? As others have said on twitter surely if they wanted to make a star they would have them go over Joe clean? And he is rather injury prone now.

Seeing which old matches they would upload to youtube always used to be a big signal of where the Fed are going and they’ve been uploading multiple bits of Khali content for a few weeks now.
A return? The long game for a Hall of Fame induction? Big Indian show?

They need to turn Big E heel, have him demolish Xavier and Kofi and be the polar opposite to his perma smile saccharine new day gimmick of the last 6 years.
Then build Kofi back up to take the belt off him at Mania. I know WWE doesn't have the patience but this would be a perfect story and they have all those years together to draw the heat from.
I'd book the fuck outta it.

But Vince only wants to have big guys who started their runs 10-15 years ago at the very top.
Was arguing with a mate recently, he is a big WWE mark. My point was how they only book that type of person at the top. I googled the last 7 years mania main events and it was something like Roman X 5, Brock X 4, HHH, Taker, Big Show). Other than Roman most people were literally 90s or attitude era.
The Fed have basically failed to make another main event megastar in 15 years. Plenty could have been and even were but they always get buried to the midcard straight and booked weak after their run. The exceptions of Punk and Bryan both happened despite Vince's best attempts - I remember those Vince, Steph and Hunter promos shoot heeling on the crowds and "internet fans" for hijacking the shows.
They basically seem to hate their core and most loyal audience and there's this amazing tension of wanting to love WWE but it's such a predictable, slick and corporate production that it ends up being the antithesis of what I loved about wrestling; ECW, Attitude Era, NWO, Early 90s...
