Also on AEW. I can't get my head around Johnny ELITE appearing.. another surprise. I'm getting very tired of these now. They have so many other wrestlers they could have put in his place.

Here's what I can't get my head around - Kyle O'Reilly winning a match, against Ray Fenix of all people.
The guy is a complete channel changer for me. His face would be in the dictionary under 'bland'.
I've seen him forming and splitting with Adam Cole for over ten years on repeat. In ROH, in NXT and now in AEW.
I'm sure he's a nice guy but he offers absolutely nothing barring ring-work (which AEW has no trouble with).
Rant over.

Yeah I'm not a massive fan either. If it wasn't for MJF/Wardlow I would be even more critical of AEW.

At least Maki Otoh appeared, hopefully they start pushing the talented and entertaining joshi wrestlers they have at their disposal rather than relegating them to dark in favour of Whitey McBlandman wrestler No. 57.

Stephanie McMahon taking a break from WWE. I don't blame her.. her dad is a workaholic.

Hope HHH is okay and this is just coincidental.

I’m shocked that didn’t go exactly as he planned. Shocked.

So what's going on with Reigns then? He's announced he's doing a reduced schedule going forward which makes no sense when holding two belts. I hope he's not sick again.

Reduced schedule in this case is more a Brock-style no (or fewer) house shows, rather than not being there on Smackdown or Raw weekly.
But I think the rumors are saying he wants to do more Hollywood stuff after appearing in Hobbs & Shaw a couple of years ago.

Ahh, I forgot about the Hollywood angle. He's also barely wrestled since Wrestlemainia.

Guys been on TV more than normal since sites started claiming a reduced schedule. Pretty sure the lack of wrestling is them covering up the injury at WM.

I’m sure I’ve said this before but despite being champion for months and being put up against big names I still don’t but Hangman Page as main event.
Even a programme with Punk feels like its playing second fiddle to MJF/Wardlow when it should be elevating him to the moon.

His angles and storylines since becoming champion have been awful, which is ironic considering the slow burn of his feud with Omega (starting from winning the tag titles) was excellent and the best thing in wrestling until the pandemic messed things up; Until he got the belt he was arguably the most over person on the roster.
To be honest I'm always of the opinion that face champions shouldn't hold the belt too long; the thrill is in the chase. Who watches a story where the hero has already overcome the odds?
Should be a great match all the same and hopefully this can freshen his character up a bit if he loses (which he probably should).

Go back to shorter reigns IMO. 3-5 months at the most would work better.
Rosa also being treated poorly since winning the title.

rhaegyr agree, its always more entertaining seeing a top heel playing final boss than a superhero face swatting aside villains Which is partly why Reigns is on the best run of his career imo

I’ve no idea who they could push as the challenger to unseat him. Whoever it is at this point would need the kind of momentum Bryan or Kofi had going into their Mania wins.

A lot of people are saying Cody but I just can't see it - there's no way Vince would give him the rub, even if it did work as a lure to get people to jump ship from AEW.
We've probably got another year of this until Bron Breakker steps up.
God, what a stupid name - the guy's real name is Bronson Steiner, it's tailor-made!

It's a dumb WWE move where they change a wrestler's name, no matter how cool it is, so they can own the copyright if that wrestler decides to leave.
Think fake Diesel and Razor when they went to WCW.

I was thinking this last night, nobody actually feels like a credible main eventer. I guess this is where Cody will step in. I also thought how fucked WWE would be if Roman got injured. It's weird how the roster can simultaneously feel so full of talent yet so bare in terms of 'headliners'. All down to the booking rather than the roster itself.

What felt like a policy of holding guys down so that the chosen ones got over is really starting to bite them now AEW has legs.
Its always seemed mad that they’d rather make no money than the “wrong” money like that. And you’ve either got guys who’ve had their time or a million midcarders with the credibility sapped.

Or that you can have a situation where you try to keep everyone over but still have your main event stars as well as rather than instead of.

Still going with Cody(Raw) and Drew(Smackdown) taking the belts off Reigns. Thinking Cody wins MITB on the 3rd July then cash in on the 4th.
Then Drew to win at Clash at the Castle. Reigns vs Rock doesn't need be for any titles.

I can see all of that
If they can’t get Reigns Rock together then they’re basically losing out on the biggest possible match of the decade

Hangman just doesn't really have a narrative, or if he does it's completely muddled.

Money in the Bank moved to the much smaller MGM Grand Garden Arena due to slow ticket sales.
They need to leave the big stadiums for WM.
