I thought WWE basically owned Progress anyway? Moreso than their partnerships with ICW, WXW and the Irish one anyway Looks like they made a deal to get content on the Network so that Progress and IWC could stay in business.

Absolutely loved the opening segment of Dynamite last night. MJF is such a star. Hilarious how long he "snogged" that ring girl for. Amazing levels of heat to start the show. . youtu.be/Vy6FQtY31-8 Kind of disappointing that Switchblade debuted in a backstage segment rather than in front of a live crowd. Thought both debuts would have been much more impactful if Tony Khan laid the fuck off the hype levers...but also get he's trying to drive viewership in a week where the Raw numbers are way down.

That girl is MJFs other half and boy did he enjoy the moment. The guy is going to be a star and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he ends up doing movies in 10 or so years.
Thought Lee had the weakest debut out of what you would say the major ones over the last year. Hopefully the guys gotten over or getting over the long covid effects.

He's certainly learnt from his health scare by gaining another 50 or so pounds.

Just never gets old that catching for a powerbomb.
Khan came out and apologised for his use of the forbidden door. Jay White was only signed at the weekend so I imagine TV was already written. We're clutching though because Dynamite is killing it.

Having never seen Keith Lee before I thought his debut was amazing, Private Party's selling and athleticism helped a lot, too, they're going to be huge one day.

I'm really curious as to why fans are shitting all over AEW at the moment. At least judging by the facebook/twitter accounts. Giving Keith Lee a lot of shit for a sloppy debut. Either I'm overly bias towards AEW or I think I'm in a place where I'm happy wrestling in general outside of WWE is pretty decent. Sure AEW isn't perfect, but neither was the attitude era if you went back and watched a bunch of matches.

Lots of people who only got into wrestling post attitude era aka "single format wrestling" seem to be willing AEW to fail, which is quite mind boggling. It's amazing just how much better a show Dynamite is compared to RAW.

AEW is easily the best wrestling programme out there even if it does have a few issues.

Main complaint I've seen is that he looked unfit and has put on weight since WWE let him go. It was a nothing match really. He came in did some moves, some poses then got the win.
As I said I hope he's finally gotten over covid but that was the same type of match he had been having on Raw just before he got released so time will tell.
WWE have people down Wembley today including Belair and the Street profits and Wembley Way is full of WWE posters. I can only hope they are getting videos ready for a PPV announcement.

Goldberg did nothing but "nothing" matches in WCW and ended up being their biggest homegrown star. It's all to do with the booking and is why WWE let so much potential go to waste. Plus Vince is a "body guy" so the Bearcat never really stood a chance even without Covid.

Don't know about that. You seen the video of Vince close to tears talking to Lee about the magic they are about to make together? Was before covid.
Vince clearly saw big things in him plus he doesn't have Brock or Roman sell like they did for Lee at the Rumble/Survivor Series to just anyone.

Definitely had big ideas for him, hence giving him the name of "Bearcat" and then cutting his contract....!
True that Roman and Lesnar sold for him early days...but early days they had KO beating Cena clean...and Balor taking the Universal title. Neither of them stayed in the main event scene for long. Vince likes his new playthings for a while and then always reverts to type, I'm amazed people still think otherwise after the last 20 years.

Vince likes heavies too. See: Bam Bam, Earthquake, Yoko, Rikishi, Vader, etc. He doesn't just like Adonises, he just seems to not care too much for svelte dudes unless they're HBK.

Its known he is anti vax. Also known that Jax, Scarlet and Kross got released for not getting the jab so that would make it a good guess Lee is in the same boat. (Along with several others).
God the list of went too far is massive!

See, i *was* around during the attitude era, and all the online wrestling fans at the time were complaining about the dumb shit, the bad booking, who vince pushed or didn't push, etc... so I'm not sure much has changed. People tend to look back more fondly on things from memory, and be more critical of things in the moment I guess. (See the weird fondness for the Star Wars prequels recently).

Same.
Attitude era got me back into wrestling but watching the odd stuff on the network now and then and some stuff really hasn't aged well.
WWE decided to beat the websites and twitter to spoiling next weeks IC title match result.

I hadn’t realised Keith Lee was anti-vax, crazy considering covid nearly killed him and even beating it nearly cost his career.
If he can be doing the wild athletic stuff he used to then get Mark Henry and Show to give him some old school big guy lessons.

Think he needs to get back to this size to really be able to pull all those moves of again
WWE had him doing more of the big man type matches on Raw
Maybe this was to cover up any existing health issues caused by covid? Or Vince just didn't want a big guy doing flips?

I do enjoy new Brock but he shouldn't be leaving with the belt Saturday or at WM

Well I see it as people project their own unhappiness onto stuff that people are enjoying watching, and I'm sure it was the same back then. Everyone praises AEW.. oh no it's shit check this BOTCH.. god did you see how the camera stalled for a few seconds... look at the pyro AWFUL.

Let's be honest though... that explosion was bad and rightly shat on considering how they hyped it up.
WWEs spots with mini explosions seem to have taken a massive downgrade over the last 10 or so years. It's dumb fun moments but should still look better. Rock/Foley at the Rumble is still my favourite of those type of spots.
Also well done WWE... you finally made Rhea look like she should on the main roster.

Yeah it wasn't great. I mean it was hardly the Kennel From Hell match. At least the wrestling was superb until the ending. But they made fun out of it on BTE and in a few promos. That's what I like about The Elite. They don't take themselves too seriously. I think they take great enjoyment pissing the fans off, and Cornette etc.

Last I heard him talking about health he said his knees had gone and still had neck issues. But he apparently had a ring set up at his house last year.
I'll take it with a pinch of salt. They have hinted at him being the host for the last year. Him and Owens would have some great promos but he wouldn't be able to take a good 60% of Owens moves and Owens deserves a proper match. Just let him talk shit about texas, win a match talk more crap then get a stunner.

Bossman got some really poor taste feuds during that run!

Cody and Brandi have both left AEW.
Pretty huge news. I for one can't wait for him to go back to WWE with expectations of being a game changer only to be told he's "stardust" again and not allowed to use his family name due to some 40 year old beef that Vince had with his dad
