Few weeks ago it was reported she called and spoke to Steph but was told no job is available.
Sounded like BS.
But he has been a bit outspoken in recent months about backstage issues. Could be nonsense but we shall have to wait and see. Does feel off that he was off with covid for a week so they made an interim champ.

This sounds and looks like a work especially with his involvement in Warner/TNT. I guess they could be taking time off for their kid but Cody in WWE makes no sense from Vince's POV.

Cody feels like it could be a work but weird timing without much build if it is. Would he end up anywhere but back in his old lower midcard spot if he went back to Vince?
Looks like 205Live is finally being canned. If anyone was actually still watching.

Cody is definitely not a work according the the dirtsheets. Alvarez speculation that he'll get quite a big push purely because from WWE point of view they will have on roster one a former EVPs of the biggest thorn in their side in 20 years. They can spin it that WWE is so much better even the EVPs are jumping ship.

205Live is now NXT level Up.
It stopped being just about cruiserweights a while back. Actually has good matches on it but little to no viewers.
Only thing I can think of is Cody possibly being seen in the same light as Drew after he left and showed them what he could do.
Never a massive fan of him(enjoyed Legacy) and felt he would always be a mid card guy and found it sad for him that it never seemed like he was able to be as popular as that damn Stardust gimmick.(that shit was over with kids and made a lot of money).
Still, he told the Ted Jr/ref/ Vince story which was brilliant so I'll give him that.

He's either been told by Tony that he won't get a title run and will be more focused backstage and build up talent.. then Vince has offered him guaranteed money to go and win the title. It's fair play on his part if he wants Vince's money. I think I said it before that I'm not a major Cody fan and the AEW roster is stacked with talent that could run with the title.
I mean CM Punk and Bryan Danielson. I'm sure WWE fans would love for either of those back than Cody.

Also been reading a few comments, and makes a lot of sense that perhaps backstage weren't keen on his promos in the last few months and Brandi just isn't a draw at all. I was certainly reminded of WCW when he came out with some of the stuff he said.

I think if Cody had been around during the early brand split days he might have got a run as champ on Smackdown. Just hard to see him as the main guy.
