So the inverted Y thing, I push the stick forward for up (as I recall is generally the default setting for most games) is this game this way or the other way round? No, inverted is like jet fighter controls, you pull towards you to go up and push away from you do go down. It is also literally how your head fucking works. To look up, tilt your head backwards. To look down, tilt your head forwards.

I was an inverter for pretty much 40yrs, then I wasn't anymore. I really don't know at what point the change happened. Maybe I had some sort of psychotic break. I've even tried to convert back, because I feel kinda dirty, but nope, I'm a defaulter now.

Also, literal head fucking works a bit different, judging from some videos I've seen, so your statement is actually incorrect.

You can only play Timesplitters 2 on xbox (series x) inverted. Cant say whether it was its dated aim system or the invert but I barely got past the first level (100% on the gamecube when it released).

It’s a funny argument to have. It always seems to boil down to people who invert controls being quite comfortable with the fact, and the non-inverters seemingly taking umbrage and going on some kind of crusade to convince the inverters they’re wrong simply for having a different preference.

That kind of argument has surely never happened in gaming before?

Playing Saints Row yesterday was amusingly topical.
*gets on hoverboard* My character: "It's not going where it's supposed to" Boffin: "Ugh. Some asshole must've inverted the controls"

What about Southpaw?

For the record: I was a southpaw player for a long time until the option almost completely disappeared from the games I'm playing. Still inverted though.

I personally feel that it’s more down to players who use inverted controls also have inverted opinions. Right becomes wrong, wrong becomes right, etc… I just assume the opposite of what they are saying is true. Like that riddle in Labrynth with the two guards. One of them was just an inverted individual.

I think I may be terminally confused. I am a serial inverter and have been for decades. Inverting the Y axis is literally the first thing I do if I’m using a pad. Can’t manage any other way. End up randomly staring at the ceiling. Hate hate hate it.
But if I’m playing an FPS with mouse and keyboard, I don’t invert. At least I don’t think I do. I’m now imagining myself playing Overwatch and I’m 99% sure I move the mouse up to bring my sights up. I’m really not very sure why this is - I think it must be contextual.

I do play dogfight games inverted. No way I will play ace combat or crimson skies any other way. Something about being in the air that requires invert just like a real life helicopter pilot would.

This may be controversial, but Red Dead Redemption on PS4 qualifies as a disappointment for me - not so much the game itself, but the lack of care and attention given by Rockstar to one of its flagship titles.

I’m certain that port is an afterthought. They finally decided they wanted on Switch and thought they’d throw out a quick port on PS4 thinking that would appease folk. It’s a bit buggy, but is otherwise a really solid port on Switch. Looks razor sharp in portable mode and the world lighting really holds up. It’s just that’s not enough for a PS4 port. Especially one that most would rather have seen as a native PS5 port.
