I blame it on Goldeneye. Was inverted by default. Bit earlier for me and this probably wasn't even the first, I spent most of the eighties playing flight sims.

Same, every time someone says "oh it only take a few minutes to change over" no, I've been playing games like this since the days of the first 3D games were ever created, my brain is hard wired to inverting Y, no matter how many times people say it's easy I say it's not.
So did I. I played 20 years inverted, and it took less than half an hour to switch. Maybe it's not like this for everyone, but it was easy for me. Have you really given it more than 10 minutes?

Developers should do a Nintendo and completely remove looking up or down, inverted or otherwise, like with Splatoon. Gyro fixes all the brain confusions.

Now consider I've been doing this for FORTY years.

I was forced to use "non-inverted" in a few games that didn't have the option, and even after hours it was just as horrendous and unplayable as in the first minute.

Hordes of Y-inverters discussing their perversion openly, shamelessly. Probably got in on a small boat.

I've played countless hours "non" inverted. I fucking hate it. I play Human Fall Flat with the boy and when you're split screen it can only be inverted or non for both. So I have it non, for him. Fucking hours on that game and I still can't get my head around it. Not including the countless hours on other games over the years trying to play like that. Maybe some people just need to accept the fact that everyone's brains are wired differently and why the fuck should we be made to feel like freaks just because of it.
Basically fuck off with that shit.

That reads quite aggressively. If it helps, I was smiling and painting a picture of a unicorn while I was typing it.

Thinking about that pathetic tweet it is interesting to see how a lot of the current fanboyism is directly connected to the when feel culture became a proper monetised commodity so stuff like the rise of the MCU, Game of Thrones being a household name etc. It's also resulted in the weird phenomenon where people actively support brands like they're a football team and get upset on their behalf. It's crazy how brand loyalty has become a substitute for an actual personality, but I guess this also feeds into the culture war we have where "my side" defines a person's existence. It's a wild time to be alive.

Joystick controls originate from aviation controls. And for centuries those have been forward = nose down. Ergo, "non-inverted" controls are objectively the wrong way round. Evidently, so is the brain wiring of anyone using them. It's just logic.
I'm glad we can finally settle this matter once and for all, and will never need to return to it again.

Non inverted people are weird.
Your head goes/tilts/pushes forward to look down and you tilt your head back to look up. So push forward on the stick is down, pull back is up.
You weirdos.

I can do both. It's the games where you have to constantly hold down all the buttons and take your finger off one to jump, shoot, etc that fuck me up

Anyway I started off inverted then switched over, anyone who persists with that degeneracy is history's greatest monster.

Having just seen Dead Space in the other thread, I'd probably say that's my most disappointing game of the year. I just didn't find it scary at all and stopped playing it (even started again on hard but it still wasn't getting me)
I'll probably start it again at some point and give up any idea of it being scary and just take it as an action horror game, but even then it all felt quite samey and nothing really stood out. Just killing monsters in corridors

It's perfectly possible to think flight Sims should be inverted as that's how flight controls work and FPS etc work differently. Because an FPS isn't trying to be at all like a fucking plane. Might as well argue the mouse should have momentum and inertia.

Somebody mentioned gyro controls.
I'm not sold entirely on them, but they can be intuitive.
But if you look at how you angle the controller or joycon to look up or down, it's much closer to how the inverted camera works.
Therefore inverted controls are more intuitive.

Inverted people are wealthier, live longer and are more attractive to all genders regardless of sexual orientation.
