I'm accumulating pens on my desk and I don't know how. They're all the same. They're all orange. I had three at the end of last week, four yesterday and I have five today and I don't know where they're coming from. I find them in my pockets when I go home and there was one sitting on the ledge in the bathroom before I left for work but I didn't take it. It's either followed me here or it's still waiting for me at home. Where did the fifth pen come from.

Mine wasn't orange though, so I'm a bit miffed.

We seem to have the opposite problem at my workplace. Pens just disappear. I've taken to keeping a couple out of sight as I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I assumed this was gonna be another posh pants or silly watches thread but with silly diamond encrusted expensive fountain pens or similar.
Disappointed.
Perhaps you've been stealing them from my eldest as he seems to require a new pen practically every day for school. This (school) year I've bought 100 Bic biros off amazon to reduce my blood pressure every time he tells me at 8.35am that he needs yet another pen. Already on the second pack of ten.

I'm currently using a pen that has a little Christmas motif near the nib if that helps. I don't know where that one came from either, but it's not one of the orange ones. I'm not touching them.

Poundland for all your pen and pencil needs. He now uses a ziplock bag as he loses pencil cases too. |

Since all I do is type my handwriting has devolved into some kind of lower and uppercase hybrid (think uppercase letters, some only half-formed, and all sort of joined together). I get bored as well, so manage to get halfway through sentences or even just words and it trails off into an unidentifiable squiggle. |

back when i smoked I had a theory there were 10% fewer lighters in the world than smokers, and they all just sort of rotated around. at any given point you'd either have three lighters or none. guess its the same with pens. at some point wunty just straight up steals yer pens  |

Aye, half of my life working with computers means any kind of handwriting is an awkward faff at the best of times. It's devolved into mostly uppercase now, as I gave up even attempting proper handwriting a decade ago.
If I have to write more than a page my hand starts cramping up from the alien position I'm holding it in.
Funnily enough I've still got a favourite pen to use though, and I'll miss it when it's gone. It's also not orange.

I came into this thread fully expecting to learn that Wunty's 'i' key had broken, but it seems the truth is far more sinister.
Now I'm concerned that the pens will continue to accumulate, one by one, until Halloween... whereupon they'll reveal their sentience, and implement phase two of their (no doubt nefarious) plan.
