They should have just renamed the phone in bits "Who's going to be the first to swear?"

I know it was only really a kids show for the first three series before the team discovered cocaine and FHM but Gamesmaster had some real borderline filthy language early on. Mostly cock based.

All I remember of Violet Berlin was that wonky haircut but she seemed genuinely into games

I believe she's married to another CITV alumni Gaz Top from How 2.

Box of Delights is a bit scary in places, although it remains one of the best kids shows ever. I still watch it at Christmas. Unfortunately my kids refuse to watch it due to it being 'old', even though I'm pretty sure they'd enjoy it if they gave it a chance, given they've enjoyed other similarly old stuff. To be fair I the first digitised voice on a video game I remember was on the Ghostbusters ZX Spectrum game, and they could very well have been saying “GHOSTMASHERS!” Was it me or was that game bloody hard? Then again, that went for most games on the spectrum. Not sure I ever got past the first level of Living Daylights, or the second screen of Airwolf!

I believe she's married to another CITV alumni Gaz Top from How 2. There's some odd kids TV power couples. Katy Hill married that really annoying Trey from the dying days of Live and Kicking. Konnie Huq married Charlie Brooker.

I used to watch Nickelodeon a lot when I was a kid. Thinking about some of the shows I used to see reminded that Rude Dog And The Dweebs is supposedly getting a re-imagining as an adult animated show.
Bit of an over estimation there, I think. Maybe behind Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Aaah! Real Monsters, Catdog, Ren & Stimpy, Rocko’s Modern Life, Doug, Wild Thornberrys, Clarissa Explains It All, Keenan & Kel, Secret World of Alex Mack Rude Dog was a good show though. Don’t think to jumps to mind as an iconic Nick show though. But man, they were on fire in the 90s. Some nostalgia-addled TV executive over here decided that Aaah! Real Monsters and Sabrina the Teenage Witch should still be on normal telly.

If I’m not wrong you also had to listen to the entire Ghostbuster theme tune every time you booted up the game. Me and my brother did make it through to the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man once, but we had no bloody idea how.

That game was a seminal moment for me. I adored the Ghostbusters film (think this predates the cartoon too), I didn't have a computer of my own, but my cousin got the game for his Spectrum. I was expecting something where you were recognisably Peter or Egon, shooting ghosts; I must have been broadly familiar with what games "were" even though I guess I was only six or something. But the way you had to create your *own* GB team, and manage a business, and buy a car, and chase down calls, and all that? Yeah, I utterly sucked at it, but it blew my mind that you could take a franchise and do ALL THIS with it. Also that games could be, y'know, strategic and managerial and stuff!
I still think it's one of the best movie adaptation of all time.

I was watching a YouTube video about the promises Nintendo and Silicon Graphics made ahead of the N64, and those workstations would have been around £250,000

1984 according to Wiki which is about right for my peak C64 gaming. Although likely I didn't get it for a year or so.

I was about to lose my shit when it got to Ghostbusters, but then I read the entry.
I just... I don't even... How... What?
After further curiosity, this was an animated sequel to a 1975 live action kids show called The Ghost Busters.

I still vividly remember the Richard Bacon announcement. Poor guy got shafted, now we look back on it. Then replaced with that Geordie farm idiot.
