Any rumour on what they will launch it with? Odyssey 2 would be great. Better not just be an upgraded TOTK. Mario Kart 9? Maybe Metroid Prime 4? As much as I love the series and it'll be a system seller for me, it's just not a system seller in the same kind of way as a 3D mario or Zelda, Pokémon, animal crossing Mario Kart or Smash title is. More of a 5 million copies game if you're lucky than a 20 million+ one.

Upgraded TOTK does seem quite likely (and probably means I should hold off going back to it, before I hear if there will be one). A Mario Odyssey 2 seems likely too. I expect something Animal Crossing related, as the Switch version was massive and quite some time ago now. I recall hearing the Splatoon team were involved with a new Mario Kart game, so that could be expected at or near launch I would think. Wouldn't expect anything Pokémon seeing as Scarlet/Violet only came out fairly recently, although maybe they will do a (much needed) upgrade version. Or, they could do some spin-off game in the franchise, made by a different team, possibly another Pokémon Legends game.
Third parties I'm wondering if maybe they could be getting a fighting game or two. Big Japanese fighting game franchises have had recent releases, so wouldn't be surprised to see Tekken 8 and/or Street Fighter 6 releasing on it. MK1 Switch version was supposed to be terrible, so maybe that will get an update (although, it likely sold awfully, so maybe they won't bother).
I wonder if there is something in the Xbox announcements coming up that is making them a bit sheepish about talking about their plans, seeing as they can't talk about games coming to the Switch 2. CoD seems likely (think they already said as much with the merger), but I wouldn't be surprised by Diablo 4 and Overwatch. Maybe even Starfield.

A Mario Odyssey 2 with Mario visiting places like Hyrule, Donkey Kong Island, Phazon Mines, etc. would fly off the shelves.

£350?
Can't see it being £280 like the Switch at launch.

Mario has magic pants in this one. You can throw them at enemies, who then look confused and disgusted before attacking.

Can't see them moving in either direction much beyond the £300-350 range. Seems to have worked well for the Switch. I'm sure there will be plenty of people complaining it is too expensive, as they did with the first one, but seems a reasonable price for what we are likely getting.

It's annoying that the launch version will almost certainly be an LCD with an OLED a year or two down the line to spice up lineup.

True but I guess with the way people really bought up the OLED version it's very clear why they'll do it again.

They could do a pro with OLED and double the storage. Easier to switch to the new one when you can say it’s faster and it has OLED if you’re still rocking the lcd one now.

I guess it depends on whether they can source OLED displays easily and cheaply for the 8 inch size that the screen is rumoured to be. Going back to LCD will sting a bit, but as long as the quality of it is decent and the rest of the console is a step up then it's something I can live with.

In fairness after the initial honeymoon period where I played everything undocked on the OLED, I just went back to playing everything docked within a month so it's not the end of the world for me.
I'm a sucker though, so I'll probably still get an OLED switch 2 when they inevitably release that in a year or two.

Yeah. I'm almost a shoo-in to buy the damned thing regardless of which screen they slap on it. I'd just really love to fast forward to the end state. I couldn't bring myself to buy the Switch OLED because I barely played the console by the time it came out. But I've played on a friend's one and it's just sublime, and any time I play on my OG 2017 unit it pains me.

Meanwhile we never went for it, and to be honest I don't particularly miss it even using the Switch undocked more often now (can't miss what you don't have etc)
I do agree it'd be better if they just made the OLED version from the start (or simultaneously released the two, buy whichever you want), it's not nice having to wait for the higher quality, but there's always the option of sticking with the OG and telling them that tactic ain't gonna work

I'm still gutted they haven't ported Wind Waker over. Having made it for Wii U they probably thought it was enough. Switch 2 is enough of a gap to have it there though

I played Wind Waker last year on Wii U. It’s still great. It felt easy and short compared to the recent two, but damn it, I like it when they more or less tell you where to go next and what to do. I liked the cut scenes in the last two so wouldn’t mind a more story driven classic zelda next.

I completed it on Wii U and not on the GC.

I think navigation was the same, but they’ve added the fast sail in the Wii U version. On GC it took forever to get anywhere.

I’d be hyped for a new top down Zelda or Ocarina of Time remake at launch. I think a new Mario 3D entry is the most obvious though.

I still have my launch day Switch, which I mainly use handheld. Battery life is a bit sorry now though and if it wasn't for new hardware this year I'd probably have stuck a fresh battery in this one. Meanwhile, the wife is on her THIRD. Launch day, Animal Crossing Edition, Pokémon Edition OLED. None are broken, she just likes her special editions. I can't even remember how many 3DS's she ended up with. There's probably a drawer full somewhere. Anyway, I try not to look at her screen as the step up in quality over mine makes me sad

The switch was the first Nintendo console I never bought. I can honestly say it’s not bothered me once. However a switch 2 with backwards compat and upgraded specs does strangely appeal to me now. If the older switch games actually fall in price a bit (I.e. Breath of the world is still £40 preowned everywhere which is ridiculous) I will probably partake….
….then never play it

I know we have the Groudon one (Pokemon ORAS special edition), the Fire Emblem Awakening one and the Monster Hunter one that has a fur design, and I'm pretty sure there's a "normal" one somewhere around here, too
