What's the purpose of the spamming? I deleted my account almost 10 years ago and heard about this forum the day it launched. Seems like the energy could be poured into something more positive.

Yeah I wouldn't bother. You aren't going to get any volume of new accounts that way.
They've just dumped the forum and couldn't give a shit. Wesley used to play games with us back and the day and couldn't even be arsed to pop in and say bye.
They're all sell out cunts if you ask me. When social media fully devours the site and it's just a landing page for EGX or some other shitty Reedpop gaming show, I will chuckle. And Parp.

It's not beyond the realm of possibilities that they actually *do* (/did) intend to note the passing of the forum. Perhaps that just didn't coincide with the 10AM switch over. If I were them, I certainly wouldn't bother now!  |

I find it interesting how objectively worse communications tools have made forums redundant. I mean, who the fuck can follow a conversation on twitter?
It's just a gamified scream room full of grand standing dickheads who are addicted to getting likes and followers.
Or discord, where conversations are gone within about 2 minutes?

They started the forum as we were all talking random shite on front page comments. Doing that again would keep them busy.
Still don't get the reasons for nuking it. The could have just removed the links from the main page. I'd have happily accepted adverts/affiliate links. It was indexed original content. Google loves that shit.
Still, at least our kids won't see what bollocks we've written over the years.
