They seem to be a very serious forum over there, would probably take them a while to integrate.
Once they realise that amongst all the cunt calling and piss taking there's a sense of community here with a great hive mind of information, they will stick around.

I didn't even realise RPS has/had a forum. I only occasionally browse the main site there though. I see their 'sunsetting' date is later than EGs too, although I suppose we were given more warning.

Can't they just make their own thread that everyone promises not to go in and be horrible? There are generally a few threads where that doesn't happen anyway. They can join in with the rest of the forum if they feel like it

They’re welcome here if they want to join but they’re right about the culture, we’re very different forums. So wouldn’t be that surprised if virtually no one drifted over. Its not that different. Its just a bunch of aging nerds talking about pop culture. The difference, I suppose, is that more of think we are funny. |

One of the RPS users does raise a point, though. Completely shuttering the forum does seem needlessly destructive. In amongst all the other bullshit, there are a few useful nuggets worth saving.
I have googled something a few times only to find a link to the EG forum giving the answer on the first page.

True enough. Although you could have said the same about VG247 or whatever that forum was that closed and brought over their lot to EG back in the day. They were 90% dribblers though a few good ones stuck around. Who was the guy who joined from there and thought he’d be king of the forum within a day? I think he got chased off within a week.

Roguey was known as a teller of tall tales. So his first account got a “that happened” tag which was apparently on the nose enough for him to quit his first account. So when he rejoined the tag evolved to “that also happened” |
