7 was a bit disappointing and I could never put my finger on it. I remember the Porsche from the box art had absolutely horrific understeer. 6 I thought was really, really great and got a lot of time from me. I remember there were like narrative campaign bits in it (do I remember a history of BMW or am I making it up) that kept it interesting.
I am looking forward to this a lot. Because of not playing much 7, it feels like it’s been a while too.

This will be my first CarPG game since GT4 and I'm cautiously hyped. Hopefully the AI is good, and the damage and wear modelling works.

I always preferred Star Wars to Star Trek because the world was a bit care worn and grimey. It’s a good point- everything looks like it’s straight front he showroom.

It’s a bit odd as in one of the earlier trailers they spent time talking about how the dirt gathers on cars in a realistic way. Then all subsequent footage is pristine… |

Just don't do what I did and pay for the preorder with MS Points that expired just before it launched (they're spent when it releases rather than the preorder date). Fortunately support sorted it out and gave me back the points to spend again.

One of the previews talked about an auto upgrade option. Pretty sure there’ll be sone kind of purchase option for community made ones too

Good technical preview from DF. They also have the technical specs for Series S/X
Example: Series X has 3 visual modes Performance, Performance RT and Quality. All run at 4k but Quality mode runs at 30fps and Performance and Performance RT run at 60fps. Performance RT has RTAO and RT car mirroring, Quality has RTAO , RT car mirroring and RT track mirroring. RT is also in the home section and car theatre.
Series S has 2 visual modes Quality and Performance running at 1440/30 and 1080/60 respectively. There's no RT in the actual races only in the home section and Car theatre.

From the previews I've seen and read so far, it sounds like that they have made a good effort to making the Forza Motorsport series less dull. Not a full scale Horizon overhaul, but just to make it a bit more interesting and welcoming.

Rolling release so I think that's Wednesday at 12pm for New Zealand time zone on Xbox and Kiribati for PC a hour earlier at 11am if you got the premium upgrade.
