I wonder if that’s a 4 or a 3 at the back. I kind of hope it’s a 3 as we played our best half of football with that formation, and having a left sided player there can only improve things.

Anyone encounter a delay on the iPlayer HDR feed? I’ve just seen Mata be asked the same question he was thirty seconds ago before I remembered to change. Or was it oddly specific Deja vu? Standard streaming delay. Make sure you’re not in earshot of anyone else watching on terrestrial. |

Weirdly, though I think this Spanish team are quite a considerable bit a head of the Italy that beat England in the final back in 2021 (pens, obviously), I actually think England will win this game.
Expect it to be a turgid affair. Early-ish goal, first half at least, then seen out for the remainder.

There's just something about this run that makes me feel like Spain aren't going to have it all their own way. England have been like Teflon for the last month. Kane will probably do his 'back into a jumping player' move and win a pen or something.

Southgate has definitely benefitted from more luck than De La Fuente. But I've watched enough tournaments to see luck beat form time and again.
I don't think Gareth's luck will run out tonight so predicting an England win. Either penalties or last minute goal, just to keep the blood pressure high.
