It's confusing as all fuck but I'm loving it so far. Clearly a labour of love from Nightdive. Have had a few stutters as I've got further in, hopefully that shit gets ironed out.

Ok, so this is fucking cool.
It's basically the best way to play it by the first 15 mins - looks great, but still has a retro ish vibe from the original. In fact, it hasn't lost any of its original unsettling experience. The ambient sound is great too.
I had a mild shiver in my spine when I heard the first automated greeting message from Shodan.
So far, very good.

It's actually quite scary too. Definitely darker. I just opened a service door and was half expecting something to jump out. Its got that kind of vibe

I'm only hearing ambient sounds in medical - however, I am *super* slow at these games, so it'll be a while before I move on. Need to check the cyberspace music out too.
Also, some of the views out of the windows into space are pretty bloody good too.

I can tell you that it is the most faithful remake I've played. You really feel like you're back there on citadel station. It's unnerving how much so too. They've absolutely nailed the original experience. Even the corpses are in the right places.

The further I push into medical, the more music is starting to come out. So it's not just ambient. Can't work out if it's scripted to events or not, but still. |

Yeah I quite liked it.
Still can't believe how faithful it is. It's like you're playing the original almost. But with awesome graphics, great sound, genuinely more dark and scary and updated controls.
Bravo!
Going to be interesting to see how they map the controls to a console pad, because it's a pure mouse and keyboard jobbie at the moment.

I'm playing with a gamepad - it's ok for the most part (once I remapped the run button, FUCK OFF L3) but the menus can be horribly cumbersome to navigate. And there's stuff like scrolling down some of the longer emails that I have to use the mouse for. The cyberspace bits are cool as shit. Finally get to play that game from Lawnmower Man, ha. |

This sounds awesome. Definitely need to download the demo this weekend and hope it runs on my PC.
Otherwise I'm gonna have to just do the Enhanced Edition, but I doubt it'll have quite the same impact.
