I've had an Xbox m8 tell me to play as it is awesome.
I will probably play it. Maybe donate something to a trans charity at the same time to make me feel better. And play it as a trans character. Does it have bathrooms in it? Iirc Harry and Ron had quite the habit of frequenting the girls toilets in the books. They didn't even pretend to be trans to do it. Will somebody please think of the children?

So - is the combat any good? I'm enjoying it. Unlocked a few spells and you can do some nice combinations. The best comparison is Spider Man. It's very similar and equally slick, with just enough depth to keep it interesting. I'm about 6 hours in (off work with burst eardrums!), and have just done a main quest in the Forbidden Forest which felt like the first proper step up. It's pretty great. As I've said, the environments are stunning. Hogwarts Castle is exceptional, and the forest seems really well done, it's all very impressive. Spider Man seems to be what they going for. I would say the quests are better than in SM, but the writing/acting is not. |

You've got to admit the irony of people loudly boycotting some shitty Harry Potter game which they probably had no intention of buying while preaching about it on the platform that has done untold damage to the fabric of society. It is a bit different. This is a fairly black and white thing twitter can be positive sometimes regardless of if the guy at the helm is a dickhole. And I think there is a genuine sense of loss for a lot of people banging on about it. Harry Potter meant a lot to a lot of people who now feel its been taken away from them and a lot of them would have been jazzed about a hogwarts game. For me, yes, it is an easy boycott as I find the whole wizarding world thing a bit embarassing and wouldnt have bought it even if it had been single handedly coded by Greta Thunberg and Ghandi. |

So - is the combat any good? Yeah. It’s the typical WB combat style (Arkham, Mordor, Mad Max) but fully ranged. You have block, parry and dodge, and a general poke spell that is you main jab attack used to combo other spells together. It works well. |

I bought it because it looked a bit like Bully in a fantasy setting from the 4 minutes of stuff I've seen of it over the years. Couldn't give two shits about the Harry Potter universe. Then I come in here and find out I've basically funded the Gestapo.

So do you ignore the artistic work of the hundreds of people that put their heart into the game because the person who originally came up with the fictional world turned out to be a cunt?
I don't particularly give a shit because as you say all this wizard world shit is dreadful but I don't think it's as straight forward as saying everything to do with Harry Potter is now evil. Shit yes, but not evil.
