Looking forward to this. Played the 1st one to death and I'm not even a Star Wars fan.
£60 on Simply games for disc users, seems to be £70 elsewhere.

Performance issues mean I'll wait for 6 months until I play this. What issues? I haven't seen anything. PC version I mean.

Also considerable frame drops on ps5 according to mattyplays. He did however love the game.

Looks to be another case of stutter struggle. Sigh.

I’m waiting on steam deck status. I could get it on ps5 but I’m more likely to play it if it’s on SD.

Looks to be another case of stutter struggle. Sigh. The first game was the poster boy for stutter struggle, I had no faith this would be any different from the start.

There's going to be another patch for the PC version as it seems, but for now it doesn't even seem to run well on a 4090 on max settings. The Game Star person talking about the performance issues also mentioned a colleague on a 3080 apparently even struggling on lower settings. Even the PS5 version has some problems, but I'm not sure how severe they are in comparison.

Unsurprisingly, we seem to have reached the limits of the SD's ability to play AAA games, with a few titles this year going beyond its capabilities. Personally not an issue, as I've never seen it as for AAA games, but I'm sure it will be a disappointment for many, as Valve really did pitch it for that.

I don't think I've even tried playing a AAA game on mine. It's always been a machine for older or simpler games for me.
Kind of a given that a game that struggles to run on a 4090 won't run well on the SD.

The point is that it shouldn’t be struggling on the 4090, and therefore there might be some combination of lower settings that would get it at least running on a Steam Deck. Personally I’m the same though. It’s the indies and emulators I use mine for.

Shouldn't even be struggling on a 2080 at 1440p tbh.

It managed very well on most other AAA games - GOW, RE4 remake etc all run well. I get that some developers may not bother/be given the resources to allow lower spec machines run these things run well though. Mine is mainly indie and FM games, be nice if this does work though. Don't get me wrong, it definitely has done well with AAA, but a few games now have really pushed it beyond acceptable. Calisto Protocol, Last of Us, Hogwarts Legacy... admittedly these games also have general performance issues, but they are also games that seem to be taking more advantage of the next-gen and the Deck isn't up to doing that.

It's CPU bottleneck isn't it? The 4090 is only being used about 33%. The vram allocation is also fucking huuuge, 18gigglebites

The Xbox version is 56 quid on Cdkeys at the moment, which seems like a decent saving for anyone morally bankrupt like myself.

So might as well just wait for it to drop to sub-£30 and enjoy the finished product. Modern gaming is such a load of shit.

I do wonder if there's going to be a tipping point about the state of big budget releases because AAA development is ultimately unsustainable but then I realise that people who are not terminally online make up the lion's share of consumers and don't care about choppy performance and more crucially news about said performance doesn't even come onto their radar.

I hope it's a technical mess until the day before it unlocks through EA Game Pass on the Series X.

That’s worth it for PGA. It’s a pleasantly surprising decent effort.

Very much enjoyed the first game and very tempted to pick this up. Would prefer to finish Octopath Traveler II first, but I imagine I wont be able to hold back and will buy it anyway.
Perhaps I will wait and just see if the day 1 patch fixes a few of the issues first which have been reported.
