No mention of performance improvements in that on console then? I checked their twitter and their sub Reddit and no, nothing. There does seem to be a pattern of UE4 games not running well in open worlds this gen and I'm not sure if it will ever truly be fixed. |

I'm noticing a pretty big improvement in performance mode with the new update. Still getting a lot more shimmery pop in than in quality mode but the resolution looks a lot higher and the image isn't falling to bits whenever you move the camera. Feels smoother too. Hope it's not just the area I'm in.

Yeah pop-in and screen tear are both still pretty bad but there's definitely a fairly noticeable improvement in image quality. Hard to tell with the frame rate as I have VRR but it feels smoother to me. To the point where I can actually play performance mode now.
Edit: just did a mini boss and the whole thing fell apart again. So it's better but still shit.

Just finished this today (on xbox)
Overall I enjoyed the game, gameplay was great, deflecting blaster fire will never get old & I liked the different lightsaber stances - I ended up sticking with cross guard because I like heavy weapons) but a) the story was a hot mess! It was pure garbage! b) my game crashed often & after one particularly tough boss fight (the only tough story boss) I lost internet connection for a second so it kicked me straight back to the Home Screen & didn’t save progress and c) some of the platforming was rough. One of the force tears was a platforming one & I don’t think the movement is precise enough for difficult platforming.
Overall though, I am pleased I played it & will probably replay it later on in the year once my gaming schedule eases up.

Everything I've read still says resolution mode is the way to go for a stable experience.

I think it's just a consequence of using UE4 tbh. It's had more and more issues as time has gone by.

Lovely looking game and no issues so far. But I only did the opening bit last night, I imagine the issues come when you start exploring the planets?
Great fun mowing down Stormtroopers with the light saber still. Combat seems more fluid than the first.

Nah, use boomerang game rentals. Helps when a game is broken at launch, just put it down the list.

Played this for first time in ages and I'm unsure if I can be fooked, way to puzzle heavy, I'm at Devastated Settlement, Stone Spires and it is just not fun, it also crashes a lot!. Shame as I enjoyed the first game.
Got past this bit but points stand! 🤔😉

That's happened to me a few times already, platforming isn't the slickest.

I was busy and had other stuff to play so put this on the back burner after getting to Koboh in the hope they were going to "fix" the performance mode but I think it's quite clear at this stage it just is what it is.
Should really stop being a fussy ponce and just get on with playing it.

I don't think they'll ever be able to fix it really, after a while it's just becomes super CPU limited, like Gotham Knights was and that's why it has no performance mode because lowering resolution or eye candy would make absolutely no difference to frame rate. |

I'm amazed/pissed off we have no Gears 6 news. I am still playing legacy games daily (obvs!) but need some new maps, characters and story. |

Loved how they've leaned more into the metroidvania influence for the sequel. Liking the balance between puzzles and combat as well.

Just defeated Rayvis fitting end and a good fight. It would be a struggle but as long as you're aggressive it's easy. Really enjoying this and hope there's a lot more of the game to go. Not ready for it to end yet. |
