Daredevil will almost certainly be toned down, violence wise. Which is a shame, as that first series really set the bar.

You're probably right to some degree, but I don't see why the new series couldn't have a very similar tone. Moon Knight, Doctor Strange, and Black Widow are all varying degrees of gritty and nasty, they just don't show any blood.
So things like the Punisher prison fight will be out, but stuff like the season one corridor fight are still ok.

Hmm, I could imagine that he may appear in She Hulk. The CGI in She-Hulk is so bad, that’s actually CGI Stan Lee in the trailer, not She-Hulk. |

I didn't actually realise that was her from Orphan Black in the lead role of the She-Hulk series. For some reason I didn't place her despite recognising the face. That's actually made me want to watch it now, despite the pishy trailer, she's a bloody fantastic actress.

They said it will be a continuation of what came before so I imagine Foggy and Karen are back. But the former writers are not, despite having plans for S4 in place before it was cancelled. In fact the new writers only credits are for Deck The Halls. I'm not writing it off but I guess I will be waiting to see. Happy for Charlie Cox, he's wanted it as much as the fans do.

I'll have to get back onto the various Defenders series again. I was worn out initially by their languid pace and only managed to watch up to the end of Defenders before it jumped ship to Disney. I think next chronologically is Punisher, which I've heard is one of the good ones at least.
Man, these things are going to be so improved just by dropping to six or eight episodes instead of thirteen.

Daredevil S3 follows straight on from Defenders and is about as good as S1.

I also got kinda worn out on them.
Bringing back Daredevil *without* the writers seems like a big gamble though.

I have to watch them all in the order they came out, my brain won't let me do otherwise. I'm basically like this with anything I'm "into". I won't feel I've seen it unless I've seen it "properly".

They aired chronologically for the most part too, so it really is the best way.

Do Daredevil 1-3 (but 2 really is mixed), Jessica Jones 1, Punisher 1 and maybe Luke Cage 1 but it drops off a cliff halfway through

I thought both second seasons of JJ and LC were boring as fuck. Didn't like them at all. Loved all of DD and Punisher. Never bothered with IF.

I thought Daredevil and Punisher were both excellent. Between Netflix and D+ originals I’d say they were the strongest series of the lot. Even with that ninja shit in the middle of Daredevil.

Daredevil season 3 is brilliant. I’d say the best of the Netflix stuff. The whole bullseye arc was excellent and the last episode was perfect.

2 was very ninja heavy. Didn't bother with 3 personally, because both DD season were half good (main villain), half Stick/ninja bullshit.

But the new DD could be well written too... Disney+ TV have done nothing half as well as Daredevil seasons 1 and 3 and nothing as cool as Netflix’s Punisher, and never will. They’ll continue with PG rubber magic Kingpin bouncing off grenades and we’ll never see him punch anyone to death or get inside a guy’s head and drive him insane again. |

I remember thinking all the negative reviews for s2 sounded crazy, coz I hate the Punisher but I love all the mystical ninja shit in Daredevil.
Then I watched it and it was like "oh."

It was just too much. A bit of it would have been fine to add a bit of mystique but it was lame with so much of it.
