I meant in films.
But then I think Paul Rudd is generally pretty boring so thats two generic male leads I’m out of step with everyone else on

The trailer reminded me how much I prefer the game version of Peter Quill over the movie one but I don't dislike Chris Pratt's performance.

The trailer does look rad to be fair. I like the idea that its basically an epilogue rather than a huge war story too. Although there is a clip in there that made me worry they were going to introduce Hercules who truly does suck in the comics

It’s Zeus played by Russell Crowe.
Though there are rumors that Henry Cavill has been cast as Hercules for an upcoming film

I always liked him but I can see why people wouldn't. He just believes in his own hype, much like Thor.

Main reason for delaying Thor 4’s marketing is likely this very weird release schedule, where the COVID constipation has it with a new MCU movie coming every couple of months for a while. Dr Strange in May, Thor in July, Black Panther 2 isn’t until November but there’s also a bunch of the streaming shows concurrent with all this too. I think there was a fourth movie at some point that got sensibly bumped to 2023.
I don’t think Thor trailers will begin in earnest until Doctor Strange 2’s first week out.

This looks great. But I don't trust my judgement because basically all you have to do is put a classic song over any trailer and I'll love it. Maybe they realised that Chris Pratt sucks and shouldn’t be carrying a franchise I've hated him in every movie I've seen him in, except the Marvel ones where he's great.

Though there are rumors that Henry Cavill has been cast as Hercules for an upcoming film I've also seen rumours that Henry Cavil has been cast as Captain Britain and Doctor Doom too, though I think those "rumours" are just fans making wish lists.

At the very least, I think he's nailed on for an MCU role, if only so Marvel/ Disney can go "lol we hired Superman and made more money with him"

There's no way Doom has been cast - when he is, it'll be nuclear-grade leak-bait, as there is nothing, nothing terrible Marvel nerds love more than Dr Doom. Not that there's anything wrong with Dr Doom, but he'll be the biggest villain casting news they've ever had. And hard to see how Captain Britain would fit into the current MCU. Despite looking like Hercules I don't really buy him for the role because I've never seen him successfully do "jolly" and Marvel Hercules is nothing if not jolly. I've hated him in every movie I've seen him in, except the Marvel ones where he's great. I wouldn't say "great" myself, but he definitely fits, and is an asset to the movies, and Peter Quill is just the right kind of loser for him to play. Whereas in every other movie he's just been a punchable shitface who I wished wasn't in it. Like, casting him as a sexy self-confident leading man-type is not working, he needs to be a clown-ass loser who is just accidentally handsome/built - literally that's what he got his start as in Parks & Rec, and it's the only place he really works - he's a character actor who is accidentally aligned with leading man roles.

I think I've only seen Chris Pratt in Guardians of the Galaxy/Avengers or Parks and Rec so have a weirdly high opinion of him probably.

Other than Jurassic Park, has he been in anything else? Random baseball guy #5 in Moneyball, roommate Barry in Wanted, and in the OC about 20 years ago

Pratt is great as Quill, and adorable as Emmett in the Lego movies, but I've not seen him in much else beyond small roles. I really don't like his character in the Jurassic films, but not sure if that's him or the role.
I love Hemsworth though. He's just great in everything. I've got this theory that he'll spend the next decade making straight action movies or the odd comedy that sends up his action-man image, then he'll put on a bit of weight to play a gone-to-seed boxer or something in a Steven Soderberg or Quentin Tarantino movie and win Best Supporting Actor.

Random baseball guy #5 in Moneyball, roommate Barry in Wanted, and in the OC about 20 years ago Passengers and The Tomorrow War, both of which he was a lead and was horrible in. But yeah fair point re: animated movies, as he is almost always playing "Loveable Loser" in those he's fine, because he can nail that role reliably. I really don't like his character in the Jurassic films, but not sure if that's him or the role. Whilst he was really bad in two other movies (and he's been in some I haven't seen like The Magnificent Seven), the Jurassic World character is peak loathsome, and the character is the same across at least two movies with different directors, supposed to be like a "Sexy bad boy who loves his dinos", but it's just not working (and we're hardly the only ones to think this - it seems to be a common comment on the movies). Some of that is that Colin Trevorrow (who wrote and directed the first, wrote the second, and is doing both for the third), is a pretty creepy dude, for sure, but I think a different actor (like, say, Oscar Isaac), could have saved the role and not just made it worse. Don't even get me started on how weirdly misogynist the first Jurassic World movie is (esp. striking given the Jurassic Park movies were the opposite, if anything, for their time).

What did Trevorrow do that was creepy? I've always thought of him as just one of those relatively mediocre directors, promoted above his talent level. He can handle everything just fine, but with no real spark, so now he's directing these massive blockbusters which are really just a bit of a shrug.

He's also that, but he's just said some weird things in interviews (struggling to find examples), and the Jurassic World script is top-to-bottom misogynist tropes, and his episode 9 episode was also super-creepy because of the Rey-Ren relationship (which is almost sorta okay in the Abrams version but... no... in the Trevorrow one). I was going to list the issues with the Jurassic World script, but I'd have to rewatch the beginning of the movie to get my facts straight, unless someone has my old post about it from the RPS forums, and I refuse to do that lol. Online there's a lot of BS about Claire's heels and stuff, but that's tip of the iceberg (and also the heels might not be just Trevorrow).

It does remind me that a large part of 80s romantic comedy films were based on using deception as a means for love to start and the 'nice guy' getting the girl from the 'chad'. It really does explain what's going on now with that mindset of some men.

youtu.be/Gksxu-yeWcUI like this video as a good explanation as to how Passengers could be a much more interesting movie. Told from Lawrence's perspective and saving the reveal of what is happening to when she finds out would definitely make it a much creepier.

Yeah. That was a *banging* episode.
I have no idea what the hell is going on and it’s just perfect so far. I do love a bit of hokey Egypt and Moon Knight has been such a fun watch.
