There is no real connective tissue to the MCU anyway. I genuinely though NWH would end with Parker getting stuck in a different reality so that the MCU would lose him and Sony would gain him, but that didn't happen. Instead it's left in exactly the same place, with Sony's Spider movies being their own thing and still without a Spider-man to tie them together. They're poor ideas on paper and then shit movies on (digital) film, I don't get how they make money. I've not seen Venom 2 but isn't there some Tom Holland cameo - like a picture on a screen or something? Reading between the lines, it struck me as if they did want to use multiversal shenanigans to bring Holland's Spidey into the "Venom-verse", or vice versa. That's why Michael Keaton was in the Morbius trailer, why there was the "Spider-Man: Murderer" graffiti, etc. This is all me speculating on films I've not seen so I might be very wrong! But it wouldn't surprise me if they were re-jigging stuff at the 11th hour (no Matt Smith pun intended). The cameo in Venom2 is a tie in to No Way Home. No Way Home continues with it, and also ends it. The two universes are separate. Unsure how Tombs ties into Morbius (and I won’t be watching it until I can do so for free), but it’s likely just a different version of the character played by the same actor, similar to JJJ in the MCU. If it’s the same character I don’t know how they’d explain that in Morbius, or even if they’ll bother. The MCU movies won’t ever need to unless Leto turns up there, and I’d wager that’s never going to happen. |

It wasn't great. But tbh it wasn't as bad as a few critics I read were saying. It's better than either Venom film.
Jared Leto is good. The film is very dark, once things get going its mostly at night or in doors in the dark. It's got good action, you get a sense of power and potentiality from Morbius.
The film does have a big problem, Morbius and his opposite are both way too OP for the humans (cops and whoever). But it is quite cool watching them fucking up humans so good but the only real fights are between them. It desperately needed some other meta-humans, super heros etc on both sides, to create decent battles.
Probably stretch to give Morbius a generous
7/10
(That is being generous, seen in a cinema etc)

Just seen morbius myself, loud IMAX showing... Film itself wasn't that bad, seen a lot worse..
Michael Keaton in the trailer... Nowhere to be seen in the main movie. Must have said fuck this I'm out 🤣🤣
But... Post credits bits wtf, talk about trying to milk franchises.

Ha ok. I remember as a 12 year old when I realised u was watching a terrible movie and I wasn't just excited to see a movie. Was Batman and Robin. I actually felt embarrassed to be watching it.

Sony’s attempts to make a shared universe make DC look masterful. The shit they shoehorned into the Amazing Spider-Man movies was cynical enough. Now they’re like some kind of straight-to-video film company trying to make movies that sound similar to real movies. “The Terminationer” “Spider-Guy” “The Godpadre”. Just people with no imagination attempting to feed off something they can tenuously connect to.
As much as Disney can go fuck itself, I’d rather see the Marvel properties united under their roof because they’re really doing an excellent job with the MCU. They’re just… competent. Sometimes great, but generally competent, and only more recently started to flag a bit post-endgame, which wasn’t unexpected, but still turning out more good than bad.

Yeah, James Gunn wanted to make it, didn't he? But I think it was only in talks; I'm not sure there was ever any sort of official announcement. And Marvel is always ready to announce something three, five years away. So if it had gone in to production, we'd know.
