Just watched it. So far it’s good and probably the best/most interesting 1st episode out of the Disney marvel series.

Nah, it was incredibad. And the cgi was kind of SyFy channel. The car chase was particularly bad. It looks really cheap at times.
But it’s the only Disney series I’ve bothered to watch (and will continue to watch) since Loki so it’s doing something right

Even the accent was alright. It wasn't though. It's just you get used to it after a while, because whilst it's terrible, it's consistent. So I guess it could be worse, like one of those horrible accents that keeps fading in and out. Personally I thought it was a mess, but a mess that I enjoyed for the most part. The London geography stuff was like some kind of New Yorker-backed information terrorism though. Fuck me I have literally never seen even a movie with less accurate geography of a place. The British Museum is apparently a tube journey away from Tottenham Court Road (?!!?) and the doors open on to Trafalgar square (?!?!?!?!?!). As Barry says the CGI was terrible - has to be the result of cheaping out because it wasn't the normal quality - but I dunno, I had a decent time. I liked it a lot better than Falcon bores us all to sleep or WandaVision's try-hard bullshit.

I'm just happy to finally see a dark souls boss get its own TV series.

I don’t know anything about the character so no idea where its going but that was a decent start.
That accent was shocking though. It was like Alastair Green character or something.

Enjoyed Moon Knight more than I expected but I thought a lot of the effects looked really cheap.

It wasn't a GREAT accent, but it didn't wind me up and I just let it go.
Is it the Thor2 version of London or it is his mind skipping all over the place ? I'm hoping the latter, but I suspect the former.

The accent is supposed to be a bit off:
“I stand by the sound of Steven 100 per cent. It’s cool [the accent] got people excited, and some were like, ‘That sucks!’ and others were like, ‘That’s great!’ But there are reasons… That voice is about where Steven’s from, where he’s living now, and some of his believed heritage. It’s not an idea of what Brits actually sound like.”

So its a bad accent because the character himself doesn’t know how an English accent should really sound?

It’s possible. I’m not sure it was a good decision given the reactions, if it was a decision and not excuse.

I'm not sure the accent is really the problem, it's more the "oh look at me I'm so incredibly British" performance that grates.
That being said I thought the first episode was pretty great.

Does Hit-Monkey pick up once the action gets going?
Just watched the pilot and the hitman doing his Archer bit wasn’t really doing it for me

So its a bad accent because the character himself doesn’t know how an English accent should really sound? It seems so but you’d think someone in his life would ask him why he sounds so weird. Maybe that’s why they also made his supervisor sound odd. I’ve seen the actress in other things and she didn’t sound like a cockney mental patient.

Maybe they asked him when they first met him.

I really don't have a problem with his accent. It's fine. It didn't pop the way Cumberbatch's Strange accent did at first (although I've gotten used to that now). I think the only issue is that the script is clearly written by an American who's attempting to write British speech patterns and isn't quite nailing it, making the dialogue seem a bit odd.
I have to say, I really loved this. Most exciting first episode of an MCU show since WandaVision and their suitably trippy sitcom eps. Bonkers, weird, creepy... I'm all for it. More please.

British people on Moon Knight are like trans people on The Danish Girl.
Seems pretty obvious the accent is so weird because (twist!) the protagonist in episode one is not actually the core personality but a created one.
I thought his performance was great though.

I don't really know anything about Morbius (in terms of spoilers) but I've heard a few people say the post-credit scenes are terrible and feel like reshoots or re-edits or something. I wonder if part of the delay this year was re-jigging the film. Maybe after the success of NWH they felt they could ditch any connective tissue to the main MCU and - as everyone was seemingly nostalgic for Andrew Garfield - build up towards his return as the "Sony Spider-Man"?

There is no real connective tissue to the MCU anyway. I genuinely though NWH would end with Parker getting stuck in a different reality so that the MCU would lose him and Sony would gain him, but that didn't happen. Instead it's left in exactly the same place, with Sony's Spider movies being their own thing and still without a Spider-man to tie them together. They're poor ideas on paper and then shit movies on (digital) film, I don't get how they make money.

I've not seen Venom 2 but isn't there some Tom Holland cameo - like a picture on a screen or something? Reading between the lines, it struck me as if they did want to use multiversal shenanigans to bring Holland's Spidey into the "Venom-verse", or vice versa. That's why Michael Keaton was in the Morbius trailer, why there was the "Spider-Man: Murderer" graffiti, etc. This is all me speculating on films I've not seen so I might be very wrong! But it wouldn't surprise me if they were re-jigging stuff at the 11th hour (no Matt Smith pun intended).

It is a shame they aren’t all in the same “universe”. I was thinking the other day that Infinity War would have been the perfect opportunity to introduce the black suit for Spider-Man, to setup Venom down the line. But sadly that ship has sailed, so we have a venom who has similar powers to Spider-Man er “just because” and an Eddie Brock with no axe to grind with Peter Parker. Wasted opportunity.
