It's also a legal requirement to have a BBFC rating in the UK, but the MPA(A, as they used to be) is purely a voluntary rating. You can go out unrated, as a lot of dodgier films used to, but nowhere respectable would run it and you couldn't advertise. That's why they invented the NC-17 (for Henry and June, iirc) but that became the kiss of death going out unrated was.
It's so stupid. They have to classify based on the fact kids could be in an R, if dodgy Uncle Bill doesn't mind taking them in to see bewbs and swearz.

Yeah that was a proper 2010s Tory moment after some bloke got convicted of murder, who also happened to like watching porn. Proper video nasty/ Grand Theft Auto causes crime vibes.
Only, they seem completely oblivious to the fact that viewing this stuff is one of the easiest things to do. And also, half of them are doing it.

It looks ok, but somehow doesn't feel like the comics.
The Kamala in the comics was unsure about her place in the world, but she seemed more sassy than the one in the trailers.
I never finished the comics, so I don't know if they detailed her origin more than the 'big pink gas cloud hits city', but somehow making it finding a magic bracelet in the attic seems a bit naff.
I wish they'd just stuck with the embiggening powers. Another superhero with plasma blasts and forcefields seems a bit generic too.
Oh well, still hopeful.

Never read any of her comics so don't really know the character in depth, but she was by far the best thing about the Avongers game. Fingers crossed they can churn out something as entertaining as Hawkeye again.

If you have an Xbox or a decent PC, sub to GamePass for a week to play the story. It's a decent story, but the actual copy paste missions are garbage. I bought it but I don't recommend anyone else buy it even on sale.
But writing's not bad, honestly.
unpopular opinion, but seeing how Crystal Dynamics has treated both this and Tomb Raider, and how well Eidos Montreal's Deus Ex and Guardians of the Galaxy turned out, CD is definitely the lesser studio out of Square Enix's western side.

You’d think after being public enemy number 1 and was plastered all over the news as a city threatening terrorist twice in the previous year or so more people who recognise Frank Castle. Particularly as he’s usually doing something violent and not really blending in at all.

The warning sign for me was the "I'm Venom" joke in the trailer.
Thinking something as silly/forced as that would land and was worthy of a trailer rang alarm bells.

But you never know! As for Morbius, I've never read any of his comics but I've always had a soft spot for him due to his appearance on the Spider-Man cartoon in the 90s, when he kept banging on about "draining plasma" because he wasn't allowed to "drink blood". The film does look utter crap, through, but then so did Venom and that only turned out to be a little bit crap. |
