Well, I thought every single second of that was utterly fantastic. I wish they'd tried to keep Red Hulk a secret, tho. 100% agree. Ffs! Trailer did look good though.

Said it plenty of times before but I really like the more thriller style MCU stuff so this looks very promising to me

That just looked like any other action movie featuring the president. Plus Mackie remains a complete charisma vacuum. Meh.

Yeah Mackie still a bit meh, but it looks 1000x better than falcon and the winter soldier.

I'd also like more of the Winter Soldier style thriller stuff.
Bit surprised everyone thought this trailer was so great though, especially as I'm usually more positive about these MCU things than most here. Too much explodey CG for me, i think.

The Agatha one definitely appeals more. But I've always preferred the mystical or fantastical Marvel stuff to the sub-par Tom Clancy spy crap of Captain America,

There's still months before it comes out so plenty of time for even more reshoots if the test screenings aren't great.
It was an okay trailer, I just don't see how you go from one Captain America with actual superpowers to a bloke without and wonder how the fuck he's going to survive five minutes unless he can fly away all the time.

Probably the same way that Iron Man was just a regular guy in a suit.
Also Red Hulk is really really really easy to defeat. Make him angry. You’d like him when he’s angry.

Its already had massive reshoots and now a near $400m budget. Don't think it will get many more changes.

The trailer hints at him finding a super-soldier lab... so I wonder if they *will* power him up. They sort of addressed his lack of powers in the TV show... and then just forgot about it later on.

I liked that trailer, one of the better trailers for a while.
Still a bit sceptical as to how well it'll be.
I actually like the sub-par Tom Clancy (as it was put above) side of things in the MCU but it's only really worked out in Winter Soldier. But I like the idea of it.

A non juiced Mackie has never held much appeal, no matter how good he is at frisbee and flips.
If they shoot him full of magic juice I'll be happy.

I just can't adjust to Mackie as an actor, he always feels wooden or forced. Hell always be the guy that ruined Altered Carbon for me and his comedic chops fell flat on its ass in Twisted Metal.
Waiting to be impressed on this but I'm fully in the 'hes a sidekick not a lead role' camp

Yeah, not a fan of his at all as a leading man. He was an awful Kovacs. It's like he didn't even bother watching Kinnaman's performance at all and just did his own thing. I suppose the director deserves a fair bit of flack for that too though. Rubbish in Synchronic as well. Just feels like he's got fuck all charisma and tries to act like he does.
He's bearable in smaller parts, but definitely doesn't have the pull of other MCU actors to get me to buy cinema tickets for this.

I totally agree he feels like a sidekick more than a leading man. Which honestly goes for most of the MCU cast.

I like him. Can think of far more personality vacuums.

I like him too and think he can lead an individual film, although I can see arguments against him being a leader figurer for The Avengers and the MCU in general. As others have said, it is a figure they are currently lacking in the franchise.
A minor element of the tragedy of his premature death, but Boseman was a big loss for the series. I expect he would have been the one to take the Chris Evans/Robert Downey Jr leadership role for the team up films.

I guess they really lucked out with Evans giving the performance he did.

I like him. Can think of far more personality vacuums. 🤷🏾 He's not the worst offender at all, and maybe this will be the film that actually proves he can have the same presence as Evans / Downey etc. But it's a shortcoming across the remaining cast. Even the big names like Cumberbatch don't feel particularly exciting or engaging in their roles. I actually think Brie Larson comes the closest to filling that central leader character hole, but the fan base seem to hate her. Iman Vellani and Tom Holland are probably the most engaging and fun leads in the MCU but neither really feel like *leader* characters (partly by writing choice as they're both coming-of-age characters).

Part of the problem is that without powers, the character needs to draw on his charisma and personality and it’s just not a big enough presence. He’s not a bad actor but he’s not great and doesn’t have enough to draw on.
Most of the others without powers, or are being used to lead, are a lot more interesting to watch.

So does this mean Star Lord gets to lead the Avengers now? Or Thor?
Maybe Smart Hulk?

I like Mackie, but I'm pretty sure the "leader of the MCU" is going to look an awful lot like Pedro Pascal.

I thought he was very good as John Doe in Twisted Metal (a show that surprised me in how fun it was and I'm not a fan of the games) but yeah there's no way he could be the leader of the Avengers but of the survivors I'm not sure who really fits the bill either.
