I'm trying to ignore all publicity on this one now. I already feel like they've spoiled too many cameos and jokes. I hope they know what they're doing and there's a TON of even funnier stuff in the bag!

A month to go. I should probably start doing my homework, as I've been meaning to rewatch the first two ahead of this. Probably should also watch Logan again.
Don't think I've actually seen any of the other Wolverine films. Any recommendations?

We've probably seen a tiny fraction of who will be in this and the fight in that last trailer does look like it's possibly a complete misdirection or unfinished special effects as Sabretooth's teeth look very normal for him.
Not long now anyway.

I honestly think The Wolverine is great. Final act isn't quite as good as the rest of the film but I don't think it shits the bed at all. Easily an 8/10 film for me.
Origins... yeah that's less good. 6/10 at best. Although the opening is actually really good, seeing Wolverine at different points in time... but goes downhill quickly. Actually as I'm remembering the film, it's gone down to 5/10.

Actually, I'm assuming you're not counting the X-Men movies and you've seen those.
The weird thing is that, despite being universally considered the worst, if you're doing homework for Deadpool, Origins is probably the most likely to have lots of references. It's also mostly shit.
Never actually seen The Wolverine as I assumed it was as bad as Origins.
Origins is one of those dumb action movies that might be fun with beer though. Or something stronger.

The Wolverine isn't Logan but it's a fuckton better than Origins. Biggest problem I had with it was the violence was clearly toned down for a PG-13 rating but the unrated version apparently fixes that but I've never seen it, sure I've got a copy of it somewhere I should dig it up.

The Wolverine is pretty good to be honest. It’s very close in feel to some of the better Wolverine solo comics. Logan is decent but it also started off the trend of “movie homages but with superheroes” where it’s basically not quite as good as Shane, The Cowboys etc, much like The Batman is a not quite as good Seven/Zodiac, and it makes them age a little poorly in my opinion.
Edit: and yes, watch the unrated version if possible. Adds more context to the family dynamic at the center of the plot.

I don't remember my issue with Origins being the toned down violence. It's no different to x-men / x-2 iirc. It was being a bit rubbish.

The comment about toned down violence was for The Wolverine not Origins.

Without the Wolverine I don't think Mangold would have been able to direct Logan - whilst Logan goes much further in terms of making a sombre, mature feeling comic book film, The Wolverine was trying to do similair things and is a world away from the preceding X-Men films and certainly Origins.
The best parts of The Wolverine are the more sombre, grittier scenes that show Logan's weariness and loneliness, and if that hadn't that worked so well I'm not sure Fox would have let Mangold, and cast and crew, push things further in Logan.

I never quite got the love for The Wolverine. Maybe I need to watch it again, but just felt like a bit of a non-event and a bit dull. I just assumed the popularity was due to the weeb factor.

In the midst of my rewatch of all the Fox Marvel films, X-Men Origins is probably the worst so far, just edging out Last Stand. Whereas The Wolverine I think is pretty great. Yeah, the last act is a bit ropey, but the early stuff has a Bond-esque quality, with a suitably tortured Logan.
I think I'd only recommend watching Origins if you either want to be a completionist or in case they make gags about it in Deadpool & Wolverine.

I think that the best thing of Origins is Leiv Schreiber. He look cool, is plenty menacing, and when he runs on all fours it was how I imagined Sabretooth moving when I read the comics. I wasn’t aware that there is an adult version of the Wolverine. Will have to track that down. Like I said, in my humble, it started off well enough, but by the end it felt like they had ran out of ideas and just wanted to get it over with. It starts as an 8/10 film, but goes downhill.

I've only seen TW once, but I just remember it going to shit at the end with a big smashy CGI-fest that modern superhero films seem to be contractually obligated to finish with.

I feel like Origins is the obvious one for them to make jokes about, given the 2 main characters/actors. But on the other hand maybe not so many people have seen Origins, and they've already made quite a few jokes about the shitty version of Deadpool.

Hmmmm, I actually think it looks a little generic and not as weird as I was expecting. I'm still excited, because I adored WandaVision, but I'm keeping my expectations in check for now.

Looks pretty good. She was the most fun thing about Wandavision, and more Audrey Plaza is always good.

It's one of those slick marvel trailers that doesn't really tell you if it's gonna be great or not. Gives me a bit more faith that Anthony Mackie can pull off the main role though. Can't tell if it's gonna be more Winter Soldier or more Black Widow / FandWS. Harrison Ford got old quick after Indy 5! (Not that he looked young in that)
I hope they do something to power up this Cap though, because it never really made sense some of the stuff he could do in the tv show without Steve's powers.
The costume doesn't look as dumb as the white one at the end of FandWS at least.

Well, I thought every single second of that was utterly fantastic.
I wish they'd tried to keep Red Hulk a secret, tho.
