Finally caught up with the second episode of What If. I really liked it, it felt very comic booky for an MCU product and told a much more original story than the Captain Carter episode did.
I was a bit worried from the early trailer that the what if X mcu character was Y character formula would limit the scope of what stories they would tell but I’m being proved wrong.

I agree, just going to copy/pasta what i wrote back in the last page....
Well I have to say that was very enjoyable, I like how the Guardians of the galaxy mixed with Earth marvel feels like a science fiction space opera, a bit like the original star wars but with its own colourful aesthetic. Not pew pew shooty, just galaxy spanning with amazing planets and characters.
Of course hearing Chadwick Boseman was particularly poignant, and his character being so goody goody was easy to warm to, I don't see them carrying on with his character but you never know. I personally don't want to see that right now but let's see if he returns in future episodes and of course there is Black Panther 2 to consider.

I think the What If is quite a nice send off for the character. We’ve seen him save his country/the world in the prime continuity and then we get to see him saving the galaxy in another showing that no matter where he is he’s going to be one of the good ones.

Apparently, the No Way Home trailer was leaked. Poor quality and all that. But still. And now I can't find it. Has someone got a link?

Tracked down the trailer. It's a video of a person holding a mobile, showing the trailer. VFX are unfinished and it's a bit difficult to make out what's happening and lines of dialogue. Probably not worth tracking down, but what is interesting is that they apparently watermark copies of in progress stuff like this with the name of the VFX artist who owns that copy. And even in a copy of a copy, that name is perfectly legible.
I struggle to believe that a professional would put her livelihood at risk like this. Are we seeing a new form of career sabotage from a disgruntled ex? If this was not leaked by her, but by someone that has access to her stuff, poor her.

Yeah, in film pretty much everything gets watermarked and logged, Disney in particular are insane in their security requirements. My guess would be the producer showing off then someone in her social circle leaking it not knowing how serious the repercussions would be.

The big crossover stuff for NWH is pretty much an open secret by now so they might as well just hurry up and do the full reveal. The pumpkin bomb more or less confirms Willem Dafoe’s return, and Garfield Parker and Tobey Parker have cropped up on a bunch of promo imagery already. Just reveal it you cowards.

I’m keen to see the Shang-Chi movie when it’s possible to. The reviews make it sound like the “Marvel Third Act” problem is going to continue (a weightless CGI battle that undermines all the character work) but it still sounds pretty great.
I’d like their movies to either use that big action third act better, or do more stuff like Captain America 3, which tricked you into thinking it would be a fight against an army of super-soldiers but came down to three mates beating the shit out of each other in a small room because of their feelings. So much better than Ultron’s swarms of easily-destroyed robots.

Brave bit of casting putting Yoko Ono in as a main villain.

I've maybe mentioned this before, but I'll be watching it because noted very-attractive-man Tony Leung is the villain.
He's a good actor too

I'm actually pretty hyped for some Spidey action after watching that trailer. Molina's Doc Ock is by far the best villain we've had in any of the films so far (hell, even including other Marvel films), so extremely happy to see him back. This had better have a Bruce Campbell cameo too!

The setup looks a bit contrived but yeah the multiverse stuff should be good fun.

It certainly looks a lot better than the last spidey installment anyway, which I thought was balls.

Don't see his face but the lawyer who slams down the paperwork is probably Charlie Cox. Which is pretty much what was already reported. He's not meant to suit up as Daredevil but who knows.
In terms of bad guys, Goblin is reported to be the main villain. We've also got Doc Ok, Electro, Sandman, Lizard and probably going to be another one (Vulture?) for a Sinister Six.
Will they have all three of the Spider-Man characters facing them off? That could be pretty damn good.

It’s allegedly Paul Giammatti back as Rhino according to leaks that have been spot on so far.

Shouldn't CC have a stick? The scene walking into the office before the slammed paperwork.

I’m excited for the Spider-man film. The trailer looks quite over the top but I’m all for marking out at the crossover stuff.

Looks damn good should be a fun ride but will it split Spider-Man off away from the MCU when the credits roll.

Looks damn good should be a fun ride but will it split Spider-Man off away from the MCU when the credits roll. I’d basically figured as soon as Far From Home ended that Homecoming 3 would be about him trying to put his identity back in the bag, then at the end getting tragically shunted off into a parallel universe ruled by Sony’s lawyers. I didn’t think that was actually going to be the whole plot of the film though. Given they had to legally grind to get this third movie agreed upon, and I think only one other appearance by Holland is contracted (Doctor Strange 2 maybe? Or maybe it will be Avengers 5 and they’ll steal another beat from Doctor Who by having him come back from the place he could never come back from for the holiday special) I think this will effectively be his last proper movie in the MCU continuity, until Disney buys Sony.
