My pet theory is that the FF and Doom escape their world as it's destroyed by Galactus and end up in "our" universe, but Galactus somehow follows them. So the threat to the main MCU Earth is postponed for a big event film. I believe that's confirmed and isn't a theory. I tend to go out of my way to avoid even fan rumours about upcoming films as I like to go in as cold as possible, so this is news to me, although it does seem increasingly likely that both the FF and the X-Men will end up on the main MCU Earth having come initially from different universes. Having said all that, I do usually find it safe to read official stories in magazines, so I was a bit annoyed in the latest issue of Empire when it said Deadpool and Wolverine has a "confirmed" Thor cameo by Chris Hemsworth.

I'm not sure where I read it but it was confirmed that FF were already famous on their earth.

As for the Kang element I think the ending of Loki season 2 is the ideal way to draw a line under that and move on without needing Majors recast or anything like that.
Plus the whole Kang thing was kind of a dud anyway so if they can use Loki and Deadpool collapsing alternative timelines together to remake the multiverse and soft reboot the MCU then I’m all for it

They probably need to link that spoiler into the films, even if it’s a fairly minor part of it otherwise things will make even less sense for the film only watchers.

Very true. I’ve seen basically everything and my franchise fatigue almost meant I didn’t reach that point, so most people probably missed it. Which was an odd choice by Marvel consider what a significant plot point it could be.

Kang being kicked into touch could be pretty easily handled with some hand waving in D&W with Wade saying something to the audience.

I don't really think they need to properly address Kang at all. In both of his appearances - Loki and Quantumania - he's given some kind of an end, given an out, and I think as far as the casual audience goes, that's probably that; his story's done, just like most minor characters/villains have their story done. Nerds like us will know the behind-the-scenes reasons why he's not coming back and just accept it.
The only possible head-scratcher is the post-credit scene in Quantumania, but at this point I reckon Marvel's racked up three or four end-credit scenes that are probably not going anywhere (I will give a soft noise of gentle surprise if Eternals is properly followed up on).
Edited to add: no bugger went to see Quantumania anyway, so it really doesn't matter what they do with Kang.

Yeah thought the Loki series handled it extremely well and opens up the door for more mischievous timeline meddling by Loki.

Geez, I keep forgetting that Kang is a thing. Still not having watched Quantumania is probably the reason. I think forgetting Kang is what Marvel are aiming for.

They should just recast with the BOS guy out of Fallout, he could easily pass as a very slightly younger Kang (if they want to continue that arc)

They don't need to do anything other than pretend he never existed. I would guarantee no one would give a shit just like no one gave a shit about Ant Man Quantumania.

The fact that they've got a big gap in movies probably works in their favor with regard to Kang.
Not that many people watched Quantumaina, and he hasn't really appeared in anything else, and have there even been any films since Quantumania?
*checks notes* - Guardians and Marvels, which were both off doing their own thing.
Deadpool can do whatever the hell it wants and impact the MCU as much or as little as it wants.
Looking at their upcoming movies past that (which are both far away and looking like a big mess) the only ones Kang seems like he might play a part in are F4 and possibly Thunderbolts, and it feels like they could easily swap him for some other villain by that point as everyone will have forgotten him by then, if they haven't already.

Yeah, apart from the Fantastic Four their next bunch of movies are all relatively Earth-bound and more physical, rather than huge cosmic epics. I think it's the same for their shows, but they don't really let you know when those are coming out until quite close to release; I think we've got Wonder Man (which they've said is very self contained), Ironheart, and Agatha.
So whilst, if things had panned out differently, they could have done a cool surprise, I think it makes sense for Kang to be totally absent for the next two or three years regardless. And by that time everyone apart from me will have forgotten all about him. 😉

I'm so far behind the shows. I can't say I care that much.
I am getting Disney soon for X-Men, but may or may not bother with the other shows I can catch up with.

I've had the same thing with the MCU shows that I had with the Netfix Marvel ones, and the Star Wars ones. (And also the Arrowverse ones, come to think of it. Though that might have been more getting bored of the formula as those were more independent) Initially, I managed to keep up with all of them, but as soon as I fell behind in one, I basically gave up on them all. I guess once I got behind it felt like I couldn't just skip shows to watch the newest ones, so the backlog got longer and more intimidating, leading me to actually watch less. It feels like they need to be really sparing with the shows. Because if the pace is too high you just lose us entirely. At least for viewers like me.

I know some people disagree but I honestly don't consider any of it truly essential as it's easy enough to just dip in and out. So unless it really appeals to me I'm unlikely to go out of my way to watch anymore.

"Kang" (or variants thereof) is a major part of Loki, but then again it's handled in such a way as to be ignorable.
I know what you mean with the shows. It's weird, because apart from Secret Invasion and maybe Falcon & Winter Soldier, they've all fallen somewhere "very good" and "actually brilliant". But there's so much of it, in terms of actual hours of content, that it can feel intimidating.
Their move to 2-3 movies and one series a year can't come soon enough, because even when it's great, it's just too much.

There's probably no issue with skipping a bunch of shows and watching the newest ones, other than my brain not liking that kind of thing. It's like the way I should probably play Witcher 3, but my brain refuses to let me until I've finished Witcher 1&2, which I'm realistically never going to do. Stupid brain.

WandaVision, Ms Marvel, She-Hulk, Hawkeye, and Moon Knight are all excellent, although all of them apart from WV have some slow, sluggish bits or a dodgy episode.
Everything else is very good apart from the two I mentioned.
I've said before, though, I don't think anything in the MCU is anything worse than "ok" apart from Secret Invasion.
WandaVision would easily be in my top ten of anything the MCU has done, though. I think it's a masterpiece.

Personally I would class them all as ok. I don't think they're essential viewing and I think it was a big mistake to do all these TV shows, it really diluted the brand, but really they were for the Disney plus content farm. I think Secret Invasion is proof of the TV experiment not really paying off.

Wandavision has some important plot stuff for a few later titles in it but its pacing means you’re probably best of bingeing it if you can so you can get to what matters as fast as possible.
I like Falcon & Winter Soldier a lot and genuinely think its one of the better MCU shows. Plus it sets up what we’re likely to get in the next Cap movie and Thunderbolts. No one will remember that because it was so long ago but it does have some plot stuff about the more ground world and heroes. I like the grounded espionage drama approach too. Especially as the movies are almost entirely cgi now.
Loki, I didn’t like the first series as it was basically just Doctor Who shot with an entirely brown palette bar maybe one episode. Season two has some much more interesting plot stuff and was really good by the end. Would recommend catching up with that if you’re interested in the overall direction of the MCU right now.
What If? Both seasons are very patchy but I’d recommend the Dr Strange episode in the first season.
Hawkeye, genuinely very good and a lot of fun. This should’ve been a movie. It would’ve been a perfect release for the Thanksgiving to Christmas window. Definite recommend.
Moon Knight, I wasn’t into this. Felt very filler heavy and is basically entirely independent of what has come before, or since. If it had been a movie it would’ve been a bottom tier one for me.
Ms Marvel, Kamala and her family are a lot of fun, the villains are pretty nothingy even for the MCU but that’s not why you’re watching.
She-Hulk, occasionally very fun, occasionally cringeworthy. The cgi is bad but its such a change in tone and style that its worth giving a try. Really polarising so I’ve no idea whether someone will be into it or not.
Secret Invasion, really bad. Almost Eternals level of boredom and a plot that doesn’t really fit with whats already been established in the franchise. The principle villain was one of Vera’s helpers for years on ITV too.
Echo, its fine. Completely nonessential and it fluffed its landing for me and took far too long to get there but its ok. Since its closer to the Netflix series than the ones above I’d put it beneath Daredevil, Punisher and Jessica Jones but its not Iron Fist.
Werewolf by Night and Guardian of the Galaxy Holiday Special are both really good and if I’m honest the mini-movie one hour one shot format is probably the approach they should’ve done a lot more of with their streaming shows. Every single series is guilty of have the plot of a two hour movie spread over 6-10 hours of television and it hurts them all to varying degrees.
In conclusion, you should watch X-Men 97 as soon as you’re able. No spoilers at all, you simply must watch it.
