Shame, it was fun. The insane cost for what were kinda ropey SFX is a fair cop though. Frankly, they should do season 2 and just do her in green body paint. I'd watch and they'd save a fortune.
[edit:] New page, so just to be clear this was talking about Wanda.

Yeah it was great, one of their rare shows that felt like it was supposed to be a TV show rather than a long movie cut into six pieces. But $200m is a lot for a light and breezy sitcom.
I'd be up for a second season if it used cheaper practical effects. Or they could just stick her in a film?

Aye, pretty disappointing it isn't returning. The article mentions that it was divisive, which I assume they are suggesting as a negative, but should really be seen as a positive. The worst of the Marvel shows have been deeply bland, I don't think you can accuse She-Hulk of that, even if it might have put some off it.
But, CGI costs sound like the main issue. Plus, as already mentioned, it looked kind of shit despite the cost.

I thought it was 'divisive' only in the 'incels don't like it because the main character is a woman' way that has applied to almost everything released over the past few years, and that we generally just roll our eyes at and ignore.

Yeah there was the usual “why wimmin” noise but I thought it was generally well received. Plus as above it actually appeared to be conceived as a tv show rather than six hour long movie.
Speaking of which, my enthusiasm for Echo is draining as I wade through it. It should have been a tv/direct-to-streaming movie as there really isn’t enough of what’s good about it to fill four and half hours or however long it is.

As I've said before things would improve greatly if they really cut back on all the TV content.

As someone pointed out Echo is like the audio effect it's named after, starts strongly then just fades away.
The finale still amazes me in how shit it is, the MCU has a consistent problem with landing the ending, Echo smashes into the ground at full speed.
She-Hulk managed to do the impossible in doing something original in how it ends, I never expected it to come back but I'm glad it exists.

Maybe if She-Hulk is too expensive to film it would be cheaper to bring it back as an animated sitcom, a la Lower Decks?
I feel there'd be more excitement for it than a Marvel Zombies series, but maybe that's just me.

Watched the one with the 3 birds with glowing hands that have a random set of powers ranging from sparkly stair lifts, repairing the fabric of space time, and re-igniting a dying sun.
It somehow wasn't the worst superhero thing I've seen in the last year.

3 birds? Were they sparrows, Finches, pigeons? I didn't know Marvel had movies starring avians now. Interesting.

I got as far as the planet who communicate via song and just gave up. Every MCU film doesn't necessarily need to be a grimdark po-faced experience, but that shit felt like it belonged in a Christmas special or something.

Me and my mates really enjoyed the Marvels. Thought it was funny (at silly end), with great action!

I enjoyed it as well, it should have explained things a bit better for those that don't have Disney+ but fortunately I do.
One thing that was a bit strange was watching that and then binging all of "Fresh Meat" for the first time over Christmas and discovering the real origin story of Dar-Benn, she wasn't a Kree but a drug misusing, possibly deranged student at a Manchester university who now dates Loki.

I'm not being an arse, but that planet was my favourite thing in a Marvel movie since Cap picked up Thor's hammer and I wish there'd been ten more minutes of it. And then it was itself superseded by the Cats bit. What I'm saying is I really, really, really enjoyed The Marvels.

They should have doubled down on it. Full late 90s/early 00s Sci-Fi Brigadoon episodes.
It was quite fun. The sparky big hands one looked like she was having a great time.

The Marvels was maybe the only film I've seen in the cinema in recent years where I wish they'd *added* another 20 mins, rather than chopped 20mins off. It just needed a bit more depth and it felt like a few things had been chopped out in the edit, leading to some weird jumps. I dunno if we ever found out, but there seems like a good chance that all the song planet peeps died, which is kinda Grimdark

The Marvels was complete nonsense, but it was enjoyable nonsense. Personally loved the singing planet and the bizarre cat/Cats sequence.
My only major complaint was that Rambeau didn't seem to have much to do, besides making Captain Marvel sad.

Yeah, generally I think Kamala was probably introduced okay to newcomers, but Monica would surely have been baffling if you never watched WandaVision.
Although I thought the same about Wanda in Doctor Strange.

Lets face it, even if you’ve seen Wandavision chances are you had to google her after the Marvels trailer first came out

She’s one of those characters that I don’t really know why she exists. Her powers are pretty similar to others and the backstory is either not that interesting or they haven’t bothered doing much with it.
A few less characters and a bit more time with them over films/series would be a lot better rather than yet another character that can fly and punch things.

I thought she worked out a lot better in the movie than in the TV show, and also better than I was expecting.
Though I was mainly there for Kamala and Capt Marvel.

I'm probably also a big Kamala fan after playing the recent Avengers game, which had a pretty good campaign for her.

Makes sense, except that most of its stronger franchises have kinda ended, which is one reason why they've been flailing around a bit trying to find new ones. As the picture kinda demonstrates, given that almost all those characters are done.
But focusing on less things and more quality is a good idea, especially if it means some of the stuff that's been stretched into shows gets put back into movies.
