I really liked Jessica Jones, mainly because I could relate to her heavy drinking and misanthropic tendencies. (Also, if I'm being honest, because I think Krysten Ritter is generally fit but especially in that role.)

Yeah I know the yellow suit is comic accurate to an earlier period but you couldn’t do a character like the Netflix version wearing it.
I’ve probably said it before but I would be very interested in them finding a reason to do US Agent vs Bernthal’s Punisher

The first series of Jessica Jones was great, but mainly due to Tennant. The rest were nowhere near as good.

Haven't they just scrapped all the work on Daredevil? Yeah. Got rid of the showrunner too I believe. I guess they started paying attention to how stuff was being made after Secret Invasion shat the bed. Directors of Moonknight and Loki S2 are now directing, and the writer of the Punisher series has been put in place.

I wasn’t so keen on Moonknight but in general that sounds positive

Punisher 1 was great fun but I got bored of the second. He's, sadly, not got longevity as a lead. I say that as someone who really likes the character in both main Marvel form and Max

I think if I was rating the Netflix series I’d put Punisher ahead of Daredevil because of the ninja season dragging it down. If its just the Kingpin seasons then Daredevil takes the crown.
I am feeling cautiously optimistic about Echo now. And if looks like we’re getting Netflix Fisk back rather than the bulletproof one we got in Hawkeye.

Yeah, I agree with simple. Whenever the main villain is on Daredevil, it’s an A show. Drops to a C whenever Stick and the ninjas arrive. All its seasons.
I’d place Jessica Jones and Luke Cage at the top, followed by Punisher, then Daredevil, big gap before Defenders, and even larger gap before Iron Fist.

As long as you want by the fact that Danny was a completely clueless numpty, the show was entertaining enough. It got a lot more hate than I thought it deserved. Probably atill the weakest of the shows but bot that much worse.

Daredevil 1 kind of set the bar high. Fuck knows why they felt the need for 13 episodes each series.
I think Jessica Jones 1 was elevated by Tennant and my rewatch of Daredevil 2 wasn't as shit as I remembered. You can actually skip a LOT of the Elektra stuff and lose nothing. It also still has the Marvel Knights Ennis iteration of Punisher, Fisk in prison and the riot sequence. DD3 was a step up but kinda forgettable.
Luke Cage was fucking amazing until they stopped being able to afford both Mahershala Ali and Alfre Woodward. It died a death after that.
Don't remember Jessica 2 and didn't do the others.

It was a real shame that Luke and Jessica never really got to get together again, as they worked really well in the first season of JJ.
I didn't think any of the Netflix ones were awful. Defenders and Iron Fist were deeply flawed, but they were at least watchable. But yeah, DD1 and JJ1 set the bar really high.
There was just too much of the stuff. It only went for about 3 years and they had, what, 13 seasons???
That might have worked a bit better for light-hearted viewing, but for what were mostly darker more serious shows it was just kinda exhausting. I keep meaning to go back and watch DD3, LC2 and IF2, but I dunno if I'll ever get around to it.

The fact they made 2 series' of Iron Fist and Luke Cage surprises me

The first episode of LC didn't really click with me. The faux blaxploitation style of the episode just felt a bit jarring coming after all of the mystical ninjas or whatever DD S2 was. He definitely worked well with JJ though, so I keep saying I'll give it another shot.
Iron Fist S2 can get in the fucking bin though. I'm never watching any more of that tripe.

Luke Cage was pretty good, but also pretty slow. Excellent music.

The second series of IF was much better than the first I thought and actually ended with me wanting to watch more.

They were all at least three episodes too long. Every single one started well, span it’s wheels for an interminable amount time while Karen decided to be a journalist or Jessica’s friend got a new job and finished relatively well when it remembered there was a plot to finish.

The second series of IF was much better than the first I thought and actually ended with me wanting to watch more. It’s because they made it the Colleen Show, taking the bold decision to put the person who could actually act and do martial arts front and centre of a martial arts show.

Iron Fist's weakness was mostly the main character. Everything else was ok(ish).
If there hadn't been dozens of other seasons to keep up with I'd probably have checked out IF2 and LC2, but by that point I was burned out, unless I was expecting them to be exceptional.

DDS2 pretty much killed it for me. The ninja stuff was so dull.

It's crazy when you're actually wanting to see a support cast member as the main draw as opposed to the lead actor who was just Charlie Hunnam levels of personality and charisma.

DDS2 pretty much killed it for me. The ninja stuff was so dull. I remember thinking that the final season of Daredevil was the best of the whole set when I binged them a couple of years back. Bongo is right though, all of them could shave at least couple of episodes and be better for it.

I enjoyed Daredevil for making a more violent take on the superhero formula. I followed the marvel movies to a point, but burnt out on the formula somewhere around the first Avengers movie and only occasionally dipped my toe in since. The approach by Netflix at the time, drew me back in.
That said, I did find the ultraviolence mixed with more PG friendly/annoying scenes with Foggy & Karen a little jarring.
Overall I enjoyed all the Netflix series, I think it helped alot that they all felt relatively self contained with their own story to tell, without having to have knowledge of half a dozen other shows/movies.
With Disney, I watched Falcon & the Winter Solider to the end and watched nothing since. I just found that show utterly forgettable. How it touched on interesting themes, before backing into the usual formula left me cold.
The new trailers for Echo as others have said do have that Netflix vibe, so I'm definitely going to give this a try.

Having members of the Rez Dogs cast turn up in the first five minutes is a good way to put another tick on the ‘Echo looks good’ list for me

Just saw Echo was uploaded all at once? Nice change of pace from the usual Disney+ weekly upload.
I actually didn’t mind the weeklies when it was on Fridays, but Wednesday is such an awkward day, so I tend to forget.
I’ll check the show out tonight.

I saw that the other day, it's truly amateur cosplay level stuff. Sony really don't know what they're doing.
