Latest name to be attached to the Mr Fantastic role is Dev Patel.
I would actually be on board with that I think, could see him being a decent Richards.
Though given these rumours occur every week I'm not sure it holds much water.

Neckbeard implosion incoming if true!
Yeah, I reckon he'd be pretty decent for that role.

Galactus better be played by a white guy otherwise it’s not realistic.

Don’t you whitewash my Galactus, he’s a giant pink spaceman.

Thinking about if they actually use Galactus they could probably link the events of Eternals to it because now Earth is not a world for a Celestial to be born from it's essentially open season on earth.

Galactus immediately? Huh. Kind of a shame. Would prefer THE MIGHTY DOOM or some weird cosmic shit - Galactus feels too big to go in on straight away. But then Dr Strange had Dormammu so.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is an excellent point. And isn’t Bob Galactus himself a celestial? Edit: just looked it up and while he’s not a celestial his origin story is batshit insane. In a good way!

I'm not sure, wasn't he originally a mortal who got turned into what he is because he was trying to escape the death of the old universe before the big bang of our new universe or something similar.

I wonder if they’ll cast a Jewish guy as The Thing.

Surely by that line of thinking, The Boys is aimed at misguided teenagers, for whom, subtly means nothing? For me, most of the MCU fits into that category of can be enjoyed by all. It isn’t that deep, but it can surprise.

For me the MCU varies between surface-level messaging ("war is bad", "don't be a dick"), stuff that's more about the emotions than the themes (the Ant-Man movies, the Guardian movies), and then the odd film that is actually about something (Civil War). All of which is great because these CAN be enjoyed by all and what you get from them varies, and is sometimes dependent on what you put in.
I've not watched The Boys but I couldn't really stick with the comic particularly because it felt very surface-level angsty-teenager stuff, very nihilistic and miserable. I may be doing it a disservice and missing its nuances but there ya go.

It isn't nuance. The Boys is about Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Boys TV show is better than the comic imo. I don't know what he's like irl obviously, but through that comic Garth Ennis comes off as an angry, bitter old man. He got a bit soapboxey in Preacher too, but The Boys feels a lot meaner.

Just watched Avengers 2. It would be really good if it wasn't for the boring robot cannon fodder.
Which means next movie on the list is Ant Man i think.. which means I might be able to take the kids to Quantumania.
PS/ The problem with all the post-endgame movies is that taking your kids to see them risks spoiling the infinity saga. It makes it hard to jump on board.
I wish they'd just make a rule that non of the new movies are allowed to reference any of that stuff.

The TV show kind of lucked into Antony Starr being absolutely superb and have leant into that ever since. It’s good fun but Seth Rogan is absolutely kidding himself if he thinks he’s doing anything particularly important there.

I can’t imagine Antony Starr playing anything other than the biggest cunt in the world now. Same with Ian Mcshane I guess, after Deadwood and Sexy Beast.

So, in a film series that develops the plot over the course of the films, you don't want them to reference the biggest event that happened in them? Sarcasm?

To be fair no one has mentioned that in Eternals the Earth was revealed to be an egg for a space god who has died and is suspended half hatched with their head sticking out of the ocean Although I still wouldn’t be surprised if they get retconned into a different multiverse dimension to avoid having to deal too closely with them in the real MCU.

It got a tiny mention in She-Hulk as a news story but I doubt we'll ever get much about Eternals ever cropping up again, it won't be completely disposed of as Black Knight and Blade are teased in the post-credits.

The rumormill says Tiamut’s body will be used as Geonosha for the X-Men reboot and be the source of adamantium, for the plot of Thunderbolts.

Even moreso, nobody has mentioned the gigantic entity that appeared in space for a few minutes and then disappeared into a self generated black hole? Not even Dr Strange..? Edit: and now that I think about it (Wakanda Forever spoilers): Wouldn’t the emergence of Tiamat have totally fucked the oceans? So where were Talokan and Namor?

Feels like killing a space god would come with some fairly serious consequences. Not that anybody seems to care about anything that happened in that movie so whatever.
