I know we won't ever get one but I would gnaw my own spleen out for a sequel.

Seen a few rumours that it's coming to PSVR and I've just ordered one. If it is I will wet my pants.

I'm sure I saw something before from them that they weren't considering a sequel however I could well be imagining it.
It's still one of the best games I've ever played. A perfect combination of gameplay, visuals, performance, art direction and music. The boss for biome 3 and the way that fight integrates with the musical motif that in itself is just fully being revealed to you (as well as the fact the track itself is one of my faviourites since I was knee-high) was a gaming moment that, well, transcended gaming, and cemented itself into my memories. Sounds a bit of hyperbole but it's like at that specific moment all the stuff that I was in to in terms of gaming, art, music and storytelling converged into one. Beautiful.

Still game of the gen for me, like you said, it's so memorable. Just a perfect blend of everything. Remember struggling on the first boss, killing him and then everything just clicked and flew through the rest of the game.

Someone on Reddit has cracked the code. All the confirmation I need.

I’m pretty sure it’s just a remake, but they’ve made the protagonist 14 years old and given them back-breakingly large breasts. There’s also a jazz-fusion soundtrack recorded exclusively with human voices.
It’s called Preturnal: Action, Excite, Away!

The studio that converted Wipeout to VR have posted it too.
Honestly if this gets announced the day I'm getting a PSVR2 delivered I'm getting baptised along with Russell.

Will cause the worst motion sickness imaginable for people! Way too fast paced to be a vr game for most people.

You can already get a modded version of the PC version on VR and it's supposed to work really well. The main thing that's making me really doubt it is VR is that in runs about 1080p and drops frames so I don't think they could ever get it to run. A comic though, that would really make up for the disappointment.

XDEV helped with development of the original game like they do a lot of titles that aren't first party, it's certainly no indication of anything.

A comic would be a real kick in the balls. The optimist in me has imagined up VR(which I've been pricing up today) and a sequel announcement.

General consensus now is that it is indeed a shitty comic or possibly an art book.

It’s apparently a Dark Horse comic which could be kind of cool if it wasn’t also crushingly disappointing

Didn't Housemarque say they're working on a new IP, not a sequel to Returnal?
Of course, they may have changed their minds.
An utterly phenomenal game, whichever way one slices it.

Normally welcome a new IP, especially if it's from someone who has made a game I love. And there's far too many sequels anyway.
But Returnal. I need more.

Who needs a proper sequel to such a highly rated game when you can just release a digital graphic novel to expand on the 3 minutes of story everyone definitely cared about?

Snarkiness aside I actually did enjoy the story. It was definitely part of why I pushed on with the game when I was getting to grips with it.

Does anyone have the pc version? I might pick up the original at some point so long as the pc version is decent.

It's alright, but it is heavy as you'd expect for a game which runs at basically 1080p on PS5 and it does have traversal stutter.

I thought it dripped in nicely, was actually pretty interesting and made sense for a never ending roguelite. The world building was actually really cool and it would be a shame if they didn't go back to the well.
