Like a lot of 80s kids, I saw the worst one of everything in the cinema (and in a lot of cases, the first one of the franchise I had seen), so Im actually quite fond of Superman 4.

I didn't mind Lucy... Complete bobbins and a waste of Luc Besson, but still a decent enough popcorn flick.

Yeah, I thought Lucy was fine. It clears the low bar of 'sci-fi movie that isnt based on a comic' and doesnt overstay its welcome.

Lucy is not 'shit'. It's maybe not very good, but it's certainly not the worst movie ever in the pantheon of *really* shit movies.

Maybe my liking for ropey B movie films from back in the day means i have encountered some real stinkers, but idk... I feel like some folk are just listing films they didn't particularly like rather than actual candidates for 'worst film evarrr'.

I enjoyed the stupidity of Lucy. Luc Besson is clearly just a horny 14 year old and shouldn't be allowed to write his own movies, but I didn't suffer through it. Never want to see it again though.

But it's shit. It's the only film me and the mrs both watched together and went to turn it off multiple times throughout. We only kept at it (the film) to see where it was going to go.
It's bottom tier bollocks. It's awful. Horrendous. It's one of the worst films I've ever seen. Ever. I'm actually crying typing this out. The tears are causing my keys rto jam rteoegtn as is soo tht.

The problem with these things is that the actual worst films we’ve all seen will be some utter shit that nobody has really heard of, which makes for a bad thread, so instead everyone goes for really well known films they didn’t like. Jaws The Revenge has 0% on Rotten Tomatoes which is pretty unusual for an actual mainstream major film, as does Highlander 2.

Has anyone mentioned Tammy And The T-Rex? Because... fucking hell.
I've never seen it but it was on How Did This Get Made podcast and it sounded ridiculous but in a good way. Obviously.

This is true. If I make it all the way through a movie, it has some redeeming feature. And, for me, a films worst sin is that its boring. I can put up with *a lot* but if its boring, nah. So, really, the worst film Ive seen recently is probably The Midnight Sky, the Netflix movie with Clooney. Watched it for about 40 minutes before I turned it off because absolutely fucking nothing happens. I know it reviewed ok but IMHO that makes it worse than something like Thunder Force which sucked ass but I did make it to the credits.

Watching Highlander 2 first is really confusing, because then we rented Highlander 1 and I kept telling people that it was going to turn into a sci-fi and they were all actually aliens... and it never did.
I kinda like Highlander 2 though. Maybe cos I saw it first.
I may also have had a fever when I saw it and it was a bit of a trip.

Shame. I'm not sure I want to brave a bad game in order to watch a bad movie. Then again, Christmas only comes once a year.

Have we had a shout-out to the 1980s Supergirl movie? It’s barely coherent, but there’s stuff in it I loved as a child, want to see it again. IIRC there’s an entire act missing from the film and it literally makes no sense.

It’s deeply weird but because it’s Salkind produced it does feel like the Superman films. Shame Reeve wasn’t in it as planned.

I used to like it better than the Superman films when I was a kid. Mainly because I found Superman boring and Supergirl was weird as fuck. I imagine there were other reasons too.

Is that the one where the big bad villainess is just trying to get into the pants of some hunk?

I liked it as a kid too, though it was weird and made less and less sense as it went on. Didn't know there was a whole act missing. Was there ever a director's cut or something to fix it?

Seen lots of shit but the 2 films I nearly walked out of cinema with were "The Fan" starring Wesley Snipes and Bobby Deniro and "Matrix Revolutions" both absolutely fucking dogshit.

Nick Jnr probably would have watched it ahead of Superman, too. Like you say, its really weird and Peter Cook is really funny. I always used to wonder why Superman didnt have an omega hardon.

Never heard of Tammy and the T Rex but it has Denise Richards and a dinosaur, so it's automatically better than most films.

I remember it used to blow my mind that they had the real Jimmy Olsen in there too.

I remember being very surprised in later years to discover people like Faye Dunaway, Mia Farrow and Peter O’Toole were all extremely significant actors that were well beneath themselves in it. Really a hell of a cast. If they’d used half the cast budget on the script it would probably be a classic film.

My wife loved Supergirl as a kid and introduced it to our daughter. She loves it, is a big fan of a strong female lead. I haven't see it though I don't think.
