Ive out the old 3700x back in the pc as I deconstruct it and run stalker just for shits n giggles. Everything else being equal with just the CPU drop and it's struggling so much. At Zalynska(sp?) with numerous other stalkers milling around and it it is stuttering and dropping frames. The old zen can no longer keep up.

I think there's just something up with their eye adaptation settings tbh. It takes too long to adjust and the contrast between inside and outside is a bit fucked. You can be inside and see outside clearly sometimes, then step outside and its pitch black.

I’m really digging this, quite a lot. Three thoughts though-
Man, I want some binoculars.
Do I just chuck any weapon with the worn icon since they’re not saleable?
And, fuck me, the dogs are annoying, why is the first bite seemingly always from behind and then they fuck off. They’re almost worse than a tooled up stalker.

Was out in the gloom, died, reloaded a save, suddenly it’s pitch black everywhere and won’t adjust. |

To be fair I don’t mind it being super dark, it’s inherently part of the game, but that bug is annoying and the day/night cycle is waaaay too fast. Trotting across to a mission early morning and it being midnight when you get barely halfway up the road is just ehh, especially as all the enemies seem to have perfect night vision.

Just watched my lad find a similar type of thing (I think) a Weird Ball, being guarded by a gravity-bending named anomaly. Seems it can offer some bullet protection or be sold for a tidy sum. |

Ah yeah, that's the other one I mentioned  Found it south east, near the town at the anomaly there. I figured there was something there because it seemed odd to me to have a big anomaly like that but no artifacts on the scanner. I think these unique ones just don't show up. |

Handily, I came across a dead stalker earlier with an artifact that reduces rad buildup, and it's enough to counter the medium rad buildup of my extra carry weight artifact, which is nice.

Respawns are a bit intense, in some places I'll kill a bunch of bandits just to get jumped by them again while I'm rifling through their corpses.
Also the coupon rewards for side quest are crazy low, just spent my life savings to kill a bunch of mutants, thanks for the cash to buy a sausage.
Also also, did anyone else upgrade their starter armor with a loaf of bread?

I think that's the busted spawning.
I'm downloading a mod that makes the mobs less tanky while making them more deadly. The bloodsucker HP is just stupid, the only way to fight them is to sit in a corner while they run at you eating an entire mag, slashing you and running away, while you heal in between.

Bloodsuckers are currently one of the worst things about the game. I'm pretty sure close to half my deaths have been at their filthy hands (and tentacles).
