I have literally had to unplug my PC and store in under a blanket because the builders need to do some rewiring in my office room which I didn't realise was required. Timing... ;_;

I'm all subbed up to PC GP for a year now, so this is pretty high on my list of things to try today.

There's no PC preload, even on XGP.

Cohhcarnage is live and I think might be streaming this shortly, waiting for unlock. I'm interested in looking for perf reasons but don't want any spoilers. Dilemma!

The first game was made with their own engine, which was famous for being broken and janky game. Unreal is being used (which has its own problems) but I guess the scope of game with the graphics, add in all the issues team has faced, like their country being bombed by russian war criminals (and sure they were hacked at one point)

"One Stalker we were travelling with also just dropped dead on the spot for no apparent reason."
No apparent reason? How about a diet of sausage and vodka?

Shillup said "right now cannot recommend the game" in this video title
I'm still going to play it.

Reading around - game seems good, but buggy.
For me I think I'm happy to just tolerate bugs and bad performance. It's the trve stalker experience.

Don't know about console but the brief bit of gameplay that is running now on cohhs stream looks good but he's on a bigboi pc. He's having resolution issues between game and elgato at the moment so I'm dipping back out

I always had faith it would be good but absolutely bugged to fuck. After Cyberpunk I'm more than happy to wait while they get on top of this, I have it on Gamepass it isn't going anywhere. Looking forward to hearing your guys' experiences though.

He shat all over Veilguard with his nit-picky video and I ended up really enjoying the game. He ended up rushing the game and then moaning he had to lower the difficulty as every fight was drawn out. Personally I had to increase the difficulty as every fight was too easy.
I have long stopped listening to what Youtubers think.

Mind you did they have the latest patches? Which is strange as you’d think they would have the latest up to date game to review.

Footage, my eyes and opinions from you lot are my guage.
So far my eyes are happy with what I've seen. Who knows if it'll change when the world opens up proper but I'm even more excited to play it now

There's an update available for my "preload" on PC now finally.
Well that was totally worth it.

They probably didn't have the latest patches as they probably got access over the weekend. Not sure if they get the patches pushed to them first as it looks like its "coming in hot" aka still fixing stuff even today
Also I would take skillup review over others (thats not for the person I replied to)

I suppose it will all come down to your own personal tolerance for the condition it is right now. I mean I don't think a Day 1 patch is going to do all that heavy lifting from what i've actuallly seen in the video reviews. It really does feel like a Cyberpunk situation where the eventual finished product will be light years beyond what was first released and I wish I had waited back then but I didn't and it really marred the experience and when I got to Cyberpunk 2.0 I just felt regret for having tried to push through all that shit.

All seems like the authentic STALKER experience!
I'm really glad there seems to be a good to great game underneath the performance/technical issues - that's the main thing for me and something that can be easily fixed down the line.
Still giving it a go tonight, purely to see how it holds up on the Series S.

Definitely sounds like half way to a Cyberpunk situation. Come back to it in 6 months and hopefully the major bugs will be ironed out by then if you’re playing via GP otherwise wait for a good discount. That said if any game was worth your hard cash this is right up there as one of them so don’t let the reports put you off if you like the idea of the game!

www.rockpapershotgun.com/stalker-2-reviewReads like it would have been a Bestest Best from RPS of old! Not sure I would say it sounds quite like a Cyberpunk situation, as 1.0 of that game also needed gameplay elements to have a few more passes (as far as I know, I only played after 2.0). The gameplay here sounds like it is in a good state, but the bugs can get in the way of that. They also sound pretty reminiscent of the original game. Does sound excellent, but think I will hold off until the new year for the worst offenders to be ironed out.

Alex from DF has said that he'll have his xbox/PC review out tomorrow which will reflect the recent patch. He's commented that they've already fixed missing gun sounds, xbox camera motion which gives the impression of low frame rate and significantly reduced traversal stutter on all versions.

I think it would pay off to wait a bit playing this. Hopefully it will not become a real life experience for us any time soon.

I'm going to wait and clear my backlog, give it time to settle.
Will never finish some of them if I start something new.
