5490 gold. Just going to miss out on this sunspot bundle but I should have enough for the next one.

New season is up. The only thing I want from it, besides the credits and gold, is the dinosaur card back.
I don't use Storm or Kazaar so doubtful if I'll pick it up at all

Everyone prep your sandman cards if not getting the season pass lol!

It's annoying that you can't purchase the following season with credits you've obtained in the existing one..8.99 not the worst amount a month but its enough for me not to get it.

Yeah 8.99 feels a bit steep. The game is absolutely amazing, so I don't begrudge handing some money over every now and again. If it was 4.99 I'd probably end up spending more.

Yeah, given how much entertainment I've had from this game it doesn't seem too bad, but then again £100+ for a game per year is a bit silly. Would definitely be nice if you could use in game currency instead.

It's the curse of the live service game model where you are expected to be fed content continuously through the years. If you don't feel like the season pass is fairly priced, just skip it. You will still get the free rewards and, eventually, you will even get the chance to get the season pass card for free if you play long enough.

It’s got to be said, I absolutely love the art variants for this season’s pass. Probably not enough to hand over £9 but it’s more tempting than the previous seasons.
What are we up to now? Season 4?

Last season pass I genuinely only had maybe two games where my opponent used Surfer, so I thought this time would be similar.
Had around 8 games, won them all using Spectrum and then I was Zabu'd.
I was completely over-powered, and my opponent had snapped in round four, and had the audacity to do the Thanos snap emote to try and get me to snap as well when I was clearly losing.
I promptly retreated and put sandman in my deck.
This season pass card looks like it'll be a lot more popular than Silver Surfer

IMO the game design of Snap means cost reduction cards are probably going to be overpowered versus buffing cards.

Zabu does seem a bit OP for a card you have to pay for…

I haven’t bought the season pass, but if I did I’d probably try putting Beast in the deck along with Zabu. In theory you could play two 4-cost cards with on-reveal abilities on turn 4, Beast that location on turn 5, then play them again on turn 6 at a cost of 1, as well as two more 4-cost cards. That does seem a bit crazy.
However, I checked the 4-cost cards I have and nothing seemed like it would work particularly well

He is stupidly easy to counter and if you do it the deck is most likely useless as they won't have much in the way of 5 or 6 cost cards. If you don't get your counter though you are in trouble.

Hang on, what happens if someone plays Wave the same turn someone plays Zabu? Do the cards cost 4 or not?

Hang on, what happens if someone plays Wave the same turn someone plays Zabu? Do the cards cost 4 or not? They cost 4 but then Zabu's cost reduction kicks in and any original 4 cost cards cost 2 less, essentially doing nothing.

So Black Widow plus Wave is rather a shit play for the opponent. Following it up with a 4 cost Odin and they get no draw for 2 turns and have to deal with a 4 cost widows bite.
For the evilols

That does sound pretty evil, though you would need your other cards to come good (as is often the way regardless).
Enjoyed it a lot over the xmas period, though found myself ranking up less. Not sure what I ended up before the reset, but it was hovering around 50 for a while (topped out about 65 last season). I had been experimenting quite a lot though.
Up to collector 1390 now, and finally got Venom so trying a destroy deck (but not quite got it right yet). My Jubilee deck I have been using for ages still probably gets me the best results (especially if Arnim Zola comes in at the right time), but my move deck is also pretty reliable.
Recently got Wong and been having a lot of fun with him, especially behind Invisible Women. Mystique and Odin add to the damage, and whilst Ironheart and White Tiger are reliable combos, chucking Gambit in there can lead to what must be some very frustrating losses (I know it was when someone did it to me).
Still not spent any money on it which I almost feel guilty for the amount of playtime I have had out if, but the season packs exclusive cards aren't enough to sway me (so far) and the other options aren't appealing at all.
If you could buy the cards in the token shop for a couple of quid I would probably be tempted to drop some money on it, but even though some choice cards have taken a while to end up in my deck, I don't really feel like I am missing out. Often I'm beaten by decks made up of cards I have, and equally I win against decks with Pool 4&5 cards.
And as mentioned, my Jubilee deck has hardly changed since I made it (fairly early on) and if it comes together nets me 4 or 8 cubes more often than not, and it's easy to see when it's not going to work for a retreat.

Earlier I stumbled over a play that makes perfect sense yet can't believe I've not done it before.
I'd stacked 3 ongoing cards into Washington DC (lizard, armour and quinjet) and then played Enchantress on them accidentally. It wiped their powers and I got the +3 location buff.

That should work with Electro as well, still get the energy but remove the one card play limitation.

I gave that a go but combined it with Lizard and Typhoid Mary. That’s a really nice way to set up for a Spectrum finish.

Battle mode sounds interesting, hadn't seen that was coming. Same deck for the whole round will force me to mix things up a bit, most of my decks are pretty obvious what's going on. I have done OK though with random decks though, used to buff new cards, if the locations are favourable.
Had some really odd matches since the reset, maybe it's just having the rank jump so low, but people doing really stupid things, like playing their final card on the base they are already winning when I am leading on the other 2.

You might be playing bots, they can be pretty weird.

I thought that, but back up to 20 now, and had another this morning. Some of them also using the emotes which I wouldn't expect the bots to do.

So in terms of "skill level" is the matchmaking based on collection level or cube level?
