The player pool will be bigger, too. I had the same with Gran Blue. I tried playing that for a bit but just got my shit pushed in by everyone. There will be a much, much wider skill spread for this initially.

Really high skill ceiling when the Japanese start breaking it down into frame data. Fighting games are a better spectator sport than shooters.

For sure, I'm gonna say I definitely won't get to that level, but I do wanna be at a level where I can at least land combos on a PS5 controller dependably and play against others in my rank without it being a one way street. Close matches are a good way to see what I could do differently and learn. But at least single player sounds pretty robust in that regard too, might be worth sticking to that for a bit before jumping online blind.

Man I really hope they fixed the online since the beta though. Seemed very very hit and miss.
I won’t be getting this at launch - £70 is too rich for my blood - but will be following it and as long as the netcode is reasonable I’ll get it when it’s discounted at some point.
It does look cool though.

Only cost me 45 on Green Man for the standard edition on PC. Fights ran surprisingly well on Steam Deck too.

I'll definitely have to pick this up, really liked 6 but 7 kinda broke me especially how shit the online was and how after a while it was truly miss one button and you're dead.

Yeah I'm really stoked for this now. Looking pretty feature-rich at launch, too, which is a bonus. I find I really appreciate the various single-player stuff so much more these days, when before I'd pretty much just lab and do ranked matches (I suck, but still enjoy it).
Promising roster too: Reina obviously looks awesome, though I suspect she'll be over played. Azucena and Victor the other two new ones look pretty cool as well.
RE: cross-play. Will PC be able to play with both Xbox and PS? Not being able to was such a bummer with MK1.

I’ve pre-ordered and i’m hyped. Seems like 23/24 is the time of fighting games. I’ve enjoyed MK1 and SF6 and this looks like it could be even better.
SEGA over to you? I’m waiting..been waiting 18 years..

Trying to convince myself I don't want this. Obsessed with fighters just now and been messing about with Tekken 7 a bit, which I quite like, despite not knowing a thing about Tekken having never played it before recently. This looks brilliant.

It's got two campaigns and (probably) Tekken Force so you don't necessarily need to be looking for your new main fighter, it's probably a good place to jump in.

Booted it up real quick just to see. Messed around a bit and got into 2 ranked matches with Hwoarang and won both, so I'm feeling good but definitely need more practice. Did knot know about the Jukebox feature, that's so impressive. So nostalgic for Tekken 3 music. Can't wait to get stuck into this and Infinite Wealth over the weekend.

Watching some streams on the way into work this morning - it really is beautiful isn’t it? Also the online seems to be decent when it works - turning off cross play appears to be the way to go.
I watched the last hour of the story mode on YouTube as well; man it is extremely anime and a lot of fun haha. I obviously won’t spoil it (although who plays fighting games for the story?) but there’s some really really nice callbacks in it.
I feel my resolve not to buy it at £70 weakening..

I got an hour in last night. Can’t complain about the actual fighting but I struggled to get a nice HDR setting and did suffer one hard lock on a loading screen in that hour (Series X).
Picked the new girl Azucena but she feels a bit light for me, so she may not be my main.

I got it down to 58, I think, using shopto credit. Its still too much for a game that has literally announced a core character as DLC before its even out but whatever.

Yeah it is a nonsense. TBH the way DLC/new characters/cosmetics are currently handled across the board in modern-day fighters is utterly fucking depressing.
