Nah they're dreadful people. I'm sure all the Man U fans who seem to have the biggest problem with this would be disowning their club at the moment. This is it, there's no easy answers. I don't blame Toon fans for being relieved and a bit excited. Hand waving it all away is a bit much though. If the Rwandan leader buys the club, which isn't totally impossible, we'll be in a similar boat to Newcastle. It's a useful thought exercise. I highly doubt I'd be able to just walk away. I'd like to think I'd at least be very uncomfortable about it and conflicted, even though it might make us more competitive. I'd hope I wouldn't argue that other clubs are owned by murderers so it's basically fine. Sure I'd probably push the uncomfortable thoughts to the back, as I already do to an extent and just try and enjoy my club winning. The nagging doubt would be there though, as it already is, but ever bigger and ever harder to ignore. |

I pretty much walked away from mine after being a season ticket holder for years. Shitty owners pretty much killed my love for the club and I'm fucked if I'm giving them any money.
I might go back when our owner finally fucks off but I didn't find it all that difficult to stop going.

Not really, I will check the scores on a Saturday and Tuesday but I don't block out time to watch or follow them at home. It took a few weeks to get used to it but i gained so much more time back to do other stuff. |

I can say, even as a Leicester fan, I would have to put morals above football. I'm not entirely easy with our owners - they've got some iffy links to the Thai royalty but they're, essentially, a very successful duty free company.
If we were bought by Qatar, Saudi, China, et al - I would 100% stop following because I don't want to contribute.
I finally got down my local non league during last international break and, yeah it was a bit miserable and the quality of the game was piss poor but I also know it's not run by absolute cunts who, you know, kill people who disagree with them.
Football isn't a religion. It's a hobby and entertainment.

As fans, we have very little power so I guess these small steps we can take just help us feel a bit better about it all.
Personally, I haven't brought anything from the club shop since we were sponsored by a betting company. Tbh I didn't buy much before but it feels like a stand of some kind.

The game against Spurs will be Bruce's 1000th game as a manager. I already feel bad for him seeing his big stupid sad head on every news article but that would be rough getting sacked on your 999th game.
Not as rough as what the people of Saudi Arabia have to live through though obviously and I want to be clear I do take that very seriously.

The tweet about Carney was a mistake but not the evil it was portrayed as. Had the club account not already done the same thing to lots of men I’d agree, but it was treated as singling out a woman for her views when that wasn’t the case at all. But the outcome was predictable and they shouldn’t have done it.
Though the Myanmar tour was indefensible. Made me uncomfortable then and still does now. As does the fact we took the Socios dollar this season. I think anyone who did that partnership should automatically rank higher.

I don't think I would stop supporting my hometeam Oldham whoever owned them - even Ecosse.
The only sad bit for me with Newcastle is that the Mackem derby will never be the same with the even greater imbalance.
