Where do you guys sit with the whole rape thing? Appreciate innocent until proven guilty, but it’s odd how he’s being universally pedestalled without even the slightest mention of that cloud hanging over him, especially when you look at Mendy who is also currently technically also innocent.

Him paying a settlement was a bit of a red flag, but then her going the civil route rather than criminal charges was also one.

Is she still pursuing anything against him or has the settlement finished it all? I remember reading that the LV police dropped the case after DNA samples or something.

They are awaiting a hearing date in Las Vegas but the leaked initial responses from Ronaldo were pretty damning.

Knowing very little about either it seems like the criminal case against Mendy must be much more concrete hence being arrested and denied bail.

I’ll be honest I’d forgotten about Ronaldo’s case. Or I was aware he’d been accused years ago but thought it hadn’t gone anywhere or had been dismissed. I didn’t know anything was still ongoing since it had completely vanished from the media.

His team threatened to sue Der Spiegel multiple times but nothing ever came from it. The whole thing stinks and the fact he was vaguely mentioned in the media when he signed was pretty disgusting.

If the De Speigel article is accurate, and there’s no reason to not believe it, based on other leaks being confirmed, then Rapey Ron’s own words are ridiculously damning outside of any other evidence.

Was glad that the primary United podcast I listen to, NQAT, spent an episode covering it. The Athletic and Guardian did okay explainers on it too but actually listening to a conversation really drove it home.

I suspect Leeds are one of those teams that take people by surprise the first season and then get found out a little the 2nd.

The tackle wasn’t a red. Just unfortunate leg tangling. I’m not sure why Klopp is allowed to walk onto the pitch and demand a red.
