I guess we are not expecting many deals today? I think most of the big ones are done (ronaldo etc). I guess mbappe will be the talk most of today. This will go to the wire. IMO it makes sense to wait until January and get him on a free and spend that £170 million on strengthing their squad. Cue a £200m deal in the final hour of this window

Suggestions are that Neves could go to Man Utd but I very much doubt it. If Lingard was sold then maybe, but seems pretty quiet plus West Ham are already signing other players.

It really is. If you want to punish him for his SM post, then fine him. No point ostracising him, if only temporarily. It's a long way back from there. To cap it all, seems we are trying to buy a Japanese RB/CB who plays for Bologna.

Yea can't see us doing any more business. I see the James sale as an indication we feel West ham won't come back in for Jesse. My feeling is the club would have preferred to sell Jesse but absolutely needed to sell someone. No more incomings I wouldn't think. I’m really surprised that West Ham aren’t getting Lingard this summer. He’s only 28 and was solid for them last season, if he’s half as good then he’d still be a decent asset for them. You’d also think they’d like to add some more goals into the team considering Antonio’s injury record. Oh, they wanted him. But we tried to take the piss. Believe we quoted them 30 mil. Which we somehow got for James, so maybe that is the going rate for our rejects?? In other news, read a stat today that Ole is our second most successful manager (win %) in the league after 100 games.

Kabak has signed on loan for Norwich with an option to buy. Thought he was good at Liverpool.

A lot of the loan deals this window are pseudo-loans which are effectively permanent transfers and recognised as such for FFP, e.g. we sold Moise Kean on a 2 year loan with an obligation to buy in 2023. There's probably some funky amortisation rules with those transfers to help the buying team with Covid finances etc.

Didn't Juve do the same with Locatelli?

And Guendouzi the same - but I only saw an "option" to buy for AMN, which didn't make sense given his contract expires in 2 years. Fucked if I know. Neither AMN or the club come out of it looking good imo.
Sounds like the RB from Bologna is on, with Bellers going to Betis (sob) and Nelson to Feyonoord on loan.

I don't know why Cavani would go to Barca.

I'm assuming we have Japhet as a RB/CB and the Barca guy. I'd actually love us to sign a striker in anticipation of Kane leaving next year, but as ever its big money for someone who would essentially be a back up for a year. We just seem a bit light up top. I know we are expecting big things from Dane Scarlett but he is only 17 I think so it will be a few years before he is fully ready.

Yeah, Tomiyasu seems to be a cheaper option than Royal, which makes sense. Age profile is consistent, and seems he'll add height too.
Aouar is being hawked about too, wouldn't surprise me if he ended up at either NL club.

Didn't Juve do the same with Locatelli? Mbappe was a loan to PSG with an obligation to pay silly money the following summer too if I remember correctly

Not sure we need another of those with Dele, Lo Celso & Ndombele (assuming he stays). Seeing as Kane can also drop back I'd rather we put the money towards a striker. Probably looking at £50m plus though for someone like Martinez which I think is a bit much for us right now. I'm guessing we'll get the RB and see Serge leave before the end of the day and nothing else. All in all it's been a pretty decent window though.

Yeah, he can also play CM though. Despite the results, I am quite happy with our transfer business - another CM would have been ideal though. Arteta has few excuses now.

I'm sure Twitter is completely supportive of the news and not at all resorting to homophobic jokes and slurs.

I mean yeah, if true who cares. Slightly weird if not true though.
Also is ‘in the facilities’ a euphemism?
